The sidebar recommendations on temping refer to the Easy@home thermometer, is it...

Not an expert by any means, but I'll take a stab at your questions. OPKs can predict when you are ovulating, but can't confirm that ovulation occurred. You can confirm that ovulation occurred by temping and seeing a rise in your temp afterwards. In month 5 of temping and I've found it to be such a part of my routine now, I don't think about it too much. I don't stress so much about waking up at the EXACT time though because I found it was affecting my sleep. I generally get up around the same time and as long as I've gotten 5 hours of sleep, that's what I go with. I've purchased 3 thermometers and this is the one I like the best. It has memory, is back-lit, and takes it relatively quickly.

As far as BDing, it's my understanding that O-1 is kind of the holy grail of BDing, but not the end all to be all. O-2 and O are both good days too. I would say O+1 and +2 are less important, but since you are only going by OPKs they could actually be O and O+1 (or something like that) since ovulation can occur 12-24 (or is it 48?) hours. That's why temping is helpful, because he can confirm that you actually did ovulate then.

This is the exact thermometer I bought (I've been temping for a while, so I bought it three years ago and it's not available any longer). I believe this is the new version of it.
