I have this easy@home one that connects via bluetooth and the soft beep is pretty nice, it has temp recall, and it connects to an app.
I have been loyal to the easy@home brand myself. Never had any issues. Others may have different opinions.
I have a box of 50 pregnancy tests, I havent used them because getting a negative sends me overboard currently. When I finally have a moth that I hit my window square I will try it - but until then..

The thermometer attaches to the Premom app, and although I dont prefer it - it picks up the bluetooth temps and you can take pics of your opks and the app will tell you if its positive or not, and keeps a picture log.

30 bucks and it blue tooth connects to your phone... so you can literally temp and go back to sleep. I could do it with my eye mask on and then later in the day can look at the app to evaluate the data... along with OPKs.
By doing both temping and OPKs I was able to determine that I have a short luteal phase (technically called luteal phase defect) After experiencing chemical pregnancies my OB was able to agree with my data and put me on progesterone after I would ovulate .... first cycle on the progesterone and I’m currently 9 months pregnant.
I highly recommend adding in temping :)
Heads up for people interested in the easy@home BBT - if you buy the one that comes with 25 ovulation strips, it's only $28 vs. $29.95 for the thermometer alone. Weird Amazon pricing ftw!

2. I’m assuming that you mean this one? Backlit ones are very useful.
3. Were you recently on hormonal birth control? I think once you start temping the random EWCM will be easier to interpret. It comes when estrogen (secreted by developing follicles) levels rise and can also spike again midway through your luteal phase.
I just tested my thermometer. It beeped, the screen backlight turned on to illuminate the numbers, then the thermometer turned off without increasing the temperature reading any further. It holds the last 30 temps in memory, so if it turned off and you checked it later there would be no issue. Easy@home brand. It’s been a pretty good thermometer.
