If you decide to go this route, you might want to make sure she has an Xacto knife. She won't have to cut out individual pieces entirely, but there's tiny 'tabs' that have to be separated using a fine blade.
Also, you can use a glue stick, but I'm a big fan of Zig glue pens like these because they have a fine tip, have slow drying time (good for re-positioning), and it dries clear.
