Consider the Canon PIXMA iP110, the Epson WorkForce WF-100, or the HP OfficeJet 200. These are all general purpose portable inkjet printers that will print onto plain paper, and range in price between $150-300. These printers have slightly different features. Most will support wireless printing from a mobile device such as a cell phone, tablet, or laptop.
Of the three printers, the HP OfficeJet 200 probably comes closest to meeting all your requirements, and is the only one that includes integrated printhead with each ink cartridge. While this means slightly higher ink cartridge costs, it also ensures that you don't have to worry about printer damage due to nonusage (dried ink), since the printhead is replaced with each ink cartridge.
Also, I believe the HP OfficeJet 200 is the only one of the three printers that offers both USB connectivity AND printing directly from USB flash drive (JPG images only).

EDIT: For the purpose of button making, as you have shown in your linked video, I would suggest using Epson Matte Presentation Paper. This will give you a very high quality, high contrast printout - much better than using plain paper, and will not add any gloss and is virtually the same thickness as plain paper and should work quite nicely with the handheld button press.
If you need smaller size sheets, I would recommend taking this paper to any print shop and ask them nicely to trim the paper down to a usable size (5x7" etc.)
