Definitely not the worst plan! I had done a pretty good job of making lists and starting to round things up. The one thing I wish I had gotten in advance is a hands free pumping bra--I already had nursing bras but wasn't really prepared for having to double pump every few hours. I sent my mom to the store for this pumping bra but it doesn't really fit the shape of my boobs and makes pumping kind of uncomfortable. I ordered this one instead and I'm hoping that's more natural.

We had to supplement to get out of the hospital. 0 issues. She has supply issues. Right now when my wife feeds and doesn't think there is enough juice in her she pumps on one boob and supplements on the other side with a bottle. When the boob runs out she switches. If you're getting 30oz a day keep some formula on hand (beg borrow and steal as much as they will give you at the pediatrician!) If you don't have a hands free bra buy one today. Actually buy all of them. Amazon typically has free returns (it says so clearly on the product page) and you have no clue what is going to work.

This is what she wound keeping: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UK9K06U/

One thing that's helped us is renting a hospital grade pump. Shop around! We got a Medela Symphony for $50/month. Having two sets of pumping supplies is amazing for our sanity. We do 12 hours a set, tossing them in cheap zip top bags in the fridge, labeled with like "Sun AM".

At 12 days old you are on a huge hormone crash by the way. It gets better. Stick to your routine, enlist your husband to supplement / clean supplies. It does get better. I watched my wife go through this same wave and she was pumping out maybe 12oz/day. We now average only ~8oz/day of formula and have found a routine which works for us.

Stay hydrated!
