there are special in ear headphones for kids that are so insensitive that they cannot reach dangerous volume levels.

Ety Kids

at the same time...only in ear headphones will have acceptable noise isolation on a plane.

As ruinevil said, noise cancelling won't work well. It works well with constant, droning sounds, notably airplane engines (or the Bose display), not sudden random noise like crowds.

Maybe some Monoprice 8323. They isolate pretty good on adults, but I'm not sure how they'd fit on children.

Etymotic also makes IEMs specific for kids: http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/etykids.html They're designed to be rather inefficient so kids can't crank up the volume too much and to isolate well with what they claim are good tips for small ears. Amazon has them for $39 per pair.

these are my iems link
i also have these foam inserts that fit the ear more snug and block out sound even better, but the included sets are just fine: link

(ignore the kids tag, i got them because they were the cheaper option) with these on and music playing at a reasonable level, the whole world just goes silent. it actually can be a bit worrisome because i just don't hear anything else at all, like a car coming or something trying to get my attention. they've also got a toned down and very clear bass which some people may not prefer but i'm fine with it.

my headphones are actually the HD 201 version of this, but this is the current version i guess: link

all other headphones give me clamping pain within minutes, but these i can have on for an hour or two before it gets bad. they've also got some alright noise isolation being over-ear headphones and the sound has very midrange levels. i don't remember well but i think it took me a few weeks before i really got used to how they feel on my head.

Oh god, please help me. I'm now living with my grandparents who have the TV on all the time with volume as loud as possible. They're watching god awful reality TV where obnoxious asshats are yelling in an incomprehensible manner, oh and maury (shoot me). I can't fucking think, and there isn't a place in the house where the tv wont penetrate. I'm used to absolute quiet the majority of my waking hours, I crave it.

Can someone recommend full size headphones or iems that block out sound? I was thinking about the Etymotic Research ETY-Kids5 IEM's: https://www.amazon.com/d/B005TOV0OM

Budget - ~$60 USD

Source - Laptop, phone

Requirements for Isolation - My #1 priority, I need as much isolation as possible within my budget.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? No

Preferred Type of Headphone? IEM or Full size.

Preferred tonal balance - Prefer it to sound like what the producer intended it to but I'm willing to sacrifice if I get more isolation.

Past headphones - Sony MDR-V6, Loved these headphones but they don't block sound at all and the headphone jack snapped (rip)

Preferred Music - Jazz and Techno

I know that Etymotic has a kids "safe listening" IEM that is deliberately high impedance, therefore low volume. I can't imagine the fit being proper for a 3 year old, though. You might be able to find some smaller tips that fit on eBay or similar. Chinese companies sell spare tips really cheaply.

dB Logic is another maker that comes to mind.

Sorry I can't be of more help; IEMs aren't my specialty.

Hello, i'm looking for a low budget, pink IEMs for latin music (mostly bachata).

Budget - 0 to 50€

Source - Samsung GSM

Requirements for Isolation - Used outdoors mostly (also for running)

Preferred Type of Headphone - IEM

Preferred tonal balance - I have no idea, see "Preferred Music" (latin music)

Past headphones - N/A

Preferred Music - The person is almost exclusively listening to Bachata aka high-pitched guitar + bongos. Also some salsa, reggaeton and various latin music.

Location - Europe (belgium)

@@ CONSTRAINT @@ - P I N K _ C O L O R

Looking at THL i can list:

This is what I use. They don't go super loud (read: ear-damaging) but they're perfect volume on my iPhone up to about 90mph. I bought a smaller sized helmet a few months back that gave me a headache on the way home. After the helmet's foam formed to my head these earbuds are once again super comfortable for hours at a time. Longest I've ever ridden in them would be about six hours in a day. I even wear these when my phone is dead just to block out wind noise.

Another redditor posted these the last time this thread came up. I have very small ear canals, and these fit great and are comfortable easily for half a day, I wear them all day without issue.
