Heads Up, Amazon matched it again ; https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MF7EQJZ

Might want to keep a eye on the Walmart listing as they usually drop theirs down a couple more dollars after their system notices Amazon matched it.

u/callcifer · 7 pointsr/linux_gaming

You are being downvoted because this sub hates Nvidia, but this is a good recommendation. 1050Ti is $186 on Amazon but the RX580 is $250.

/u/tony_montana83 personally I'd go with the 1050Ti or even a 1060 if you are willing to pay around $250.

u/Dagger32304 · 6 pointsr/buildapc

Why not go with a GTX 1050ti? You could get one cheaper, they're newer, faster in almost every way, and don't require external power connectors.

Here's one from EVGA for $150

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

u/Warpalliw · 4 pointsr/ARK

the 1060's are kind of high priced right now, if you want to save a bit more money but still see a massive boost in performance, i'd recommend the EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC GAMING 4GB, its got an extra gig of memory and runs at USD 159.99 on amazon right now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

u/rebelsoul94 · 3 pointsr/IndianGaming

get evga 1050ti for ~9.5k 1050ti is the best in the 9-12k range.

u/Herdnerfer · 3 pointsr/buildapc

I bought this one for my nephews PC, works pretty good, Skyrim is buttery smooth at 1080p.

GTX 1050 Ti is the best in that price range but for a few extra bucks you'd be better off with a RX 470.

If you're willing to go up to $200 you can get a GTX 1060 or RX 480 which are MUCH better cards.

u/martindm03 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Ahhh, good 'ol LGA 1366, one of my favorite platforms of literally ALL TIME! You have a few options for upgrades definitely. I would recommend a Xeon x5670 as a great cheap CPU upgrade. You will also want a GPU upgrade, that old quadro FX is gonna be awful for any gaming, something like a GTX 1050 ti would be a great choice. You will also want some more RAM, upgrade that 4 GB to at least 8 GB. It will be DDR3 1066 or 1333 MHz most likely so get some of that. I actually run this exact CPU and GPU combination, a screenshot of my Xeon system here and it works very well for 1080p gaming. I also use it for 4k gaming with a bunch of older games, on my 4k TV.

Edit: Almost forgot! Also get a cheap 120 GB or 250 GB SSD! You may want to save a bit more money first though, these upgrades will be more than $150.

u/_davey · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Ah gotcha. Do you think the Gtx 1050 ti would be a good card? https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

I extended my budget a little bit since there are some good sales going on with cpus rn. I decided on getting an fx 8350 for my CPU upgrade, and I am thinking about getting the 1050 ti. Do you think that would be a good card comparing it to my current 650ti? It is either this, or the 1060 mini.

u/AngeryDoggo666 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I understand. You can get a HDMI port with an external graphics card. [GTX 1050 ti] (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ) that's got an HDMI port. Hope this helped. Good Luck!

u/TheRaginSteak · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

If you want to spend ~150 you should go for a GTX 1050ti such as this one

u/badillin · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

No no no, forget about the 750ti its the same price $109

https://www.amazon.com/GeForce-Express-128-bit-Graphics-GTX750TI-OC-2GD5/dp/B00IB9P1KG/

as the rx460 $112 (discounted right now)

https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-NITRO-Graphics-11257-02-20G/dp/B01J1M4HDS

And the 1050ti $150

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR-Rodgers/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

You should really consider the rx470 though... its $162 and totally worth the extra $12 if you planned on getting the 1050ti.

https://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-470-AXRX-4GBD5-3DH-OC/dp/B01JGNP79K/

Any of these would be a BIG improvement over your old 560! (the rx460 and the 1050ti are about double as powerful as the 750ti!)

I have a computer hardware question. This might not be the IDEAL sub to ask, but I know there are many PC enthusiasts here.

I have a 6 year old gaming computer. It was pretty much top-of-the-line when I built it. I believe my GPU is my current bottle neck, and am considering replacing it. I'm wondering what the community would recommend for the upcoming 3.0 release, but something that wouldn't be completely overpowered for the rest of my components. I've been holding off on building a new PC until S42/SC are closer to release (which could still be years?)

Current Build:

u/thats_way_harsh_tai · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I know nothing about the inner workings of a computer. My 14 year old son plays games on his all the time (mostly Steam). For Christmas 2014, I got him this. I am struggling on ideas for what to get him, so I have been googling and found this on a list of "perfect gifts for the pc gamer in your life" or whatever. My question is, Is this a decent upgrade? Would it make that much of a difference for him?

Also, sort of related, but not really. He said he needs a new XBox controller that he uses for his computer games (he broke his). He has an Xbox 360 that is old and he never plays on. Do I have to get him a 360 controller? Most of the ones I have been seeing are for the Xbox One. Also, do I need any kind of adapters?

Thank you so much.

edit: Also, if you can suggest any other parts or things that will improve his experience I would greatly appreciate it. Like I said, I know nothing so this is all very confusing for me. Amazon links would be amazing.

u/TransientBananaBread · 2 pointsr/buildapc

$132 for an RX 460 is a very bad deal. You can get a 1050 Ti that will vastly outperform it for almost the same price. If you are willing to shell out 30 more dollars (after rebate), you can get an even bigger performance boost from an RX 470. Other than that, you should be good.

u/GetsTrimAPlenty · 2 pointsr/titanfall

Sorry for the delay, I'm doing a lot of reading lately.

Yes! You're right. It's most likely a video card issue, so a bug.

I recently switched from an older AMD Sapphire Radeon R7 265 to a more modern GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC; Then followed my instructions from Part 2 (turn all graphic settings off / low, with draw distance set to "far") and on the Geforce there were still bullet trails! I'm guessing the drop pod indicators were the same way, as per your testing.

I don't know if it's particular to that video card, AMD graphic cards in general, or just that the card was on the low end for the game and so "couldn't do" some effects in some configurations.

I'll edit the post going forward. Nicely done, thanks.

Edit: punctuation

u/DJCHUMPCHANGE · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

Thank you so much! My motherboard can handle such an advanced card?

EDIT: Any suggestions on a card $100 to $150 less? I can afford to do the 1070 if I need to.

I can definitely confirm this as I recently upgraded from a 635 to a 1050 TI and the difference is amazing. I was lucky enough to have some bday money saved up so it only costed me a little bit.

This was the card I got but I'm sure you can find better deals out there. I had to use Amazon because of the gift cards I had.

Double check when you buy it, but most should work fine. I have a 1050 ti SSC, and it doesn't require any external power input. Any of them should fit fine in that case, so I'm assuming you're talking about power supply.

There are a few aftermarket versions with a plug however, so make sure to check the exact version. I bought this version, single fan

RAM isn't too too expensive, and DDR4 gives you better flexibility here. You could either go for the new 1050 here or try this used 1050 Ti that puts you right at budget (or just search around a bit more for used deals.)

Sadly for some reason there are almost no availability of 1050Ti's here. And the ones available are almost at the price of the 1060 3GB.

The RX 470 Nitro+ is at the same price than the MSI RX 480 I linked lol.

[edit]

Just checked, the cheapest 1050 Ti 4GB is this ZOTAC one and I can get it for about 236 dollars... quite the difference compared to US amazon. I can get it by around 180 in US amazon WTF.

this one isnt slighty better? is just a bit more expensive. But is the 1050 Ti really worth? I've read quite some bad reviews about it.

u/Fleshko · 1 pointr/techsupport

You are talking about this one? Im really grateful for your help and im sorry if im asking too much. But im not that good with those things.

u/kramer314 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yes, there are a lot of different GPU brands and varieties within brands. Some things that vary between models are clock speed (some are slightly faster) and cooling (all of them should be fine in general in terms of thermals, some just have more fans or run a bit cooler or quieter, etc. -- which may also be necessary if things are clocked higher).

Personally, I really like EVGA -- they make high quality stuff and have great customer support. I'd get this one: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/; it'll definitely be compact enough to fit in your case, be faster than a stock 1050Ti, and still have good thermals. It also doesn't require another power connector from the PSU (so you might not need to upgrade it).

u/thedarklord187 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

while personally id opt for a whole new build, not everyone has that kinda cash to just throw down so i'll throw my recomendations as far as what youve presented so far.

First: The PSU - dont buy cheiftech opt for a evga 700W bronze they can be had right now for $40.

Second: the Ram - While buying your ram an extra 2gb will get you by the mhz on the current ones is low for what your motherboard supports id personally opt for the 8GB stick of Kingston fury x for $45

Third: The graphics card - Now heres where id chime in you mentioned a 750ti but new those are still going to $100 for an extra $50 you can grab a gtx 1050ti and have a hell of a lot more performance for the price and be in the current gen of graphics cards.

Anyways if you have any questions let me know.

u/Vishwarrior · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

this one?

I wouldn't have to change the psu?

Do you think this would this improve my fps for pubg? where it is worth it?

u/NathanHammerTime · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm looking to buy a graphics card for my first PC build (which will happen in the next few months) because I got a relatively substantial amazon gift card. Literally the only game I play is Rocket League, and it's the only game I plan on playing. What is my best value option?

I don't have a 4k monitor (nor do I intend to get one) so I'm really not trying to run everything at max settings/max fps. I just want something that will run the game well enough on high settings.

My current thought is this one but if this one would help me that much more, I think I'd be willing to dish out the cash. Or if there's an entirely different one that would work best for my needs then by all means suggest another!

u/WhatGPADoINeed · 1 pointr/buildapc

So I'll just buy a graphics card now but are all 1050 ti's virtually equal? I see Gigabyte D5, OC and Gaming but each brand has their own types. I also see single and dual fan but online most of them say 1050 ti doesn't draw enough power for it to make a difference, correct?

Few choices of GPUs I have:

Which one is better, the one from EVGA or Gigabyte?

u/KenPC · 1 pointr/techsupport

That card won't be able to handle much. Valve Source games like CS and HL should run okay. WoW will run. Nothing demanding will run well on that.

My recommendation would be to upgrade that GPU with something newer. And since your HP desktop may or may not have extra PCI-E PSU cables, you're going to be limited to only the cards that draw their power from the PCI-E lane.

Best card I can recommend based on that would be the GTX 1050ti

Will definitely run more demanding games.

It's not really hard if you are handy. I followed a you tube build based on the case I used, a cooler master elite 130. People on r/buildapc are very helpful. Another great choice is buying a decent computer and upgrading. There is an i5 acer act 780 refurbished for 370 on newegg.com or brand new for 400 on amazon.com that can take a smaller gtx 1050 ti.

Option 2

u/bcarton · 1 pointr/buildapc

Ask him to measure height & width of his power supply. Standard form factor is 85mm x 150mm. If that's true, you'll still need to stay with a smaller PSU in terms of length - which is fine because the lower wattage PSUs are shorter. He'll never need more than 350W. EVGA, Seasonic, and Corsair make good power supplies (although I've read Corsair CXM is the series to get).

I have no idea who makes the best 1050, but I have this EVGA 1050 ti and I'm very happy with it.

Check /r/buildapcsales for deals on power supplies.

u/Judge_Dreggs · 1 pointr/graphicscard

I'd say go for a 1050ti. It should easily get 60fps+ in minecraft. It definitely shouldn't bottleneck with your CPU and I'm 99% sure that it won't with your wife's either.

u/e60deluxe · 1 pointr/buildapc

the good news is:

  • there is room for a dual slot PCIe x16 full height card.
  • there are two SATA ports (you can remove the dvd drive if you want, or convert it to USB) AND an M.2 SSD port.

    the bad news:

  • the power supply is 180W. this is shockingly low.
  • the power connector for the motherboard may interfere with long GPUs.
  • the motherboard is of non standard size and layout.

so from here the first problem is that the power supply is way too low for most cards. the minimum card you'd need would be along the lines of a 1050 or 1050ti, however the issue is the power supply. 180w on a system that probably pulls 140ish without a graphics card.

you can get a used card, but i would not go an older generation than the 1050 because the power requirements would be too high. without changing the power supply i would look for a 1050 and hope that it does not cause any issues. i would specifically look for a short one, because of that potential power cable issue:

    https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-02G-P4-6152-KR/dp/B01M64G435/

    https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/

if you are willing to change the power supply, you can open yourself up to more options. for example the 670 falls right in between the 1050 and the 1050ti, and can be found used for $75ish but being the higher end card from years ago, its power requirements are too high for the PSU

that being said, you may need to end up changing the PSU anyway. but what i would do is atleast try a 1050 first and if you have problems, look into changing the power supply also.

last word of advice: you will need to open the case and physically look to see that there is room for the card you want to put. often times in prebuilts the drive cages eat up valuable room.

Hi, I'm relatively new to building a PC, and I'm looking to upgrade my PC for under 500 if possible. My current specs are super old and terrible for today's games.

CPU: AMD FX 4100 Quad 3.6GHz

GPU: Geforce GT 640

Motherboard: asus m5a78l-m lx plus amd 760g phenom II

This is my current PSU

8 gigs of ram

One 1080p monitor and a 1440x900 monitor

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to this and my CPU to this. I'm wondering if my current setup can support those two for modern gaming on high (not ultra) settings. Since I'm no PC expert I was hoping I could get some feedback here. Thanks in advance!

u/SupremeChunk · 1 pointr/buildapc

I absolutely would like more details. That sounds great. Do you think this card would be possible instead of the RX 460 though? (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1496400471&sr=1-1&keywords=1050ti) - (Or something semi-similar)

I may have understated "light gaming" - Plus, some off the software I use (Mainly vMix) is built and optimized for nVidia stuff.

u/cybercifrado · 1 pointr/Overwatch

TL;DR - Buy this card, put in computer, play game.

Thanks to the link to the Amazon seller page provided by /u/probartlett155, we now know the following:

  • CPU: AMD A4-6300 (2 cores @ 3.7GHz)
  • GPU: No discrete GPU, but an APU; AMD Radeon HD 8370D
  • RAM: 8GB
  • HDD: 1TB HDD @ 7200rpm
  • PSU: 400w (switched? unknown)
  • Chassis: Aerocool Strike-X
  • Motherboard: Unknown (not cited on the seller page)
  • OS: Windows 8.1

According to the seller, this motherboard does in fact have an open PCI-E x16 slot available. This makes things a bit easier. A discrete GPU is available, though with the current configuration, not a top-of-the-line one. I like the suggestion from /u/PapayaPies to get a GTX 1060; alas, that is not possible currently due to the underwhelming power supply.

Cheapest, easiest solution: EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC from Amazon for $140.49USD (plus S&H).
While there are two cheaper options, I'd recommend the EVGA variant as my history with them has been rocksteady reliability (I still have a system built pre-i3/i5/i7 that runs on an EVGA motherboard and video card). I consider this option the cheapest and easiest as all that is required is the following:
  1. Get card.
  2. Power down computer.
  3. Open chassis.
  4. Insert card into available PCI-E slot.
  5. Close chassis.
  6. Connect display to new GPU.
  7. Power on computer.

While we could go with other options; they're more expensive and require a new power supply at the very least – adding not only $50 to $80 to the total cost after the video card; but time spent rewiring power connections, as well.

It is important to note that this particular video card is bus-powered only; and does NOT need an additioal power cable running to it to perform its function.

With this configuration, a reliable gaming experience in Overwatch and other games can be readily achieved with minimal downtime and risk to the components. I'm sure this is not the way some Redditors would do things; but again I remind you, we're trying to get him playing Overwatch as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

    Comments
Whomever these sellers are that are selling “gaming computers” with just an APU and not a discrete GPU need to be punched in the babymaker. While I understand they're a business and trying to make money; they're flat-out lying about the capabilities of these machines. They're nothing more than office workstations with a fancy chassis. I'm sorry, /u/probartlett155, but I feel like you got scammed. :(
Windows 10. It is also worthy to note that for some damn stupid reason Microsoft includes as part of its OS something called “Xbox Game DVR”. This comes ENABLED by default; and without an account with Xbox Live, requires you to edit the registry to disable. Why disable it? It is poorly coded and causes a significant drop in performance. In your situation, we need every drop we can get. Steam has a howto on disabling it via registry; but I'd wait to muck about in there until after the GPU has been installed and performance can be assessed (yes, I'm looking for trouble here, I know, I'm sorry).

    Recommendations
If you find the above solution acceptable; then I would recommend going ahead and buying the video card and getting things going. I would NOT recommend spending any more money on this particular rig, though. Mosey on over to /r/buildapc and poke around a bit; start saving money for a newer gaming rig that you can call your own.

    Final Thoughts
Sorry for your troubles, man. Hope you can get into some Overwatch, I personally love the game. Also, without further adieu – welcome to the PC Master Race (#PCMR, /r/pcmasterrace).

May your framerates be high and your temperatures low.

    Happy fragging!

This is the base build you want to work from?

why do you feel you need to upgrade? what are your current limitation and wants?

Sure you have an old build but do you really require anything more at this stage? For 2013 that is an outstanding budget build and something I would stick with today.

I think I have a good idea of where you are coming from/what you need so I will do my best to explain. I'm going to guess here that you are experiencing less than stellar gameplay on new titles and want to play on smoothly on high settings.

Assuming the 960 is a 2GB card; CS:GO and other esports titles will see very minimal difference with any upgrades, reason being that do not require or utilize any of the extra VRAM memory on the GPU. Your core clock and cuda cores are fine, better than my PC so I do not see any reason for complaints here.

When it comes to newer titles like Dark Souls 3 which you mentioned you will need to either turn the settings down or replace your gpu with a 4GB card. That will allow you to turn up the setting and maintain solid framrate, the problem with the newer, bigger games is that they have more in the environment to load.

Your GPU is still great and high valued and you do not need any PC upgrades. However if what I said above holds true I would recommend the following moving forward.

Your CPU and Mobo are fine and not worth replacing, I wouldn't worry about the ram either, 8gb is fine and you don't need anymore than 12. You can add an SSD at anytime but that will just make loading faster, it would just be to install windows and run csgo off of which is not going to be worth it.

If I were you I would sell that oversized power supply to replace with a corsair 450w, and sell the gpu for a 1050ti. EVGA comes highly recommended

I just picked up a Zotac because it was cheaper in my area but for extra $ I would stick with EVGA they have solid manufacturing, and driver support.

So your options for upgrading are pretty limited. Not much has come out in the CPU market until recently so not many people would advise you jump into Ryzen or any of the new stuff now, and your anything else in your build is fine and would costs a lot to upgrade. IF you have a 2GB card your only problem is higher settings on new games

notice your build only consumes 300w~ yet they sold you on a 700w psu. im sure if you research a bit you will find other glaring abnormalities and unnecessary choices in your build like what is your ram speed and how many sticks do you have... if you have one one 8gb you will enjoy throwing in another, twox4gb would be fine to leave

Found this one on Amazon and if you overclock it to 1777mhz then you can get 4k on most esports games (rocketeague, overwatch, csgo) however you said you wouldn't be running games on it. I found this from a simple Google search but id look a little bit more into it and try comparing to rx480 or rx580. The prices on the rx580 and rx480 are rising at the moment so beware try not to spend over 250 on those cards.

u/Psychemm · 1 pointr/buildapc

GPU for sure. All the other parts in a PC really depend on what the builder needs and their preferences, a GPU doesn't really depend on much (other than the processor of course, but not anything to consider when gifting). In a $500 budget, I'd say get him a GeForce GTX 1050ti. It should perform well under his budget and work with his parts well. Just make sure he doesn't accidentally buy a GPU for himself :).

Also, what country are you ordering in? Prices are different in each region so $500 in the US would be different than $500 elsewhere.

u/squallscmo · 1 pointr/NiceHash

Since you are talking about a mini gpu... Is there any difference between mining with a regular sized video card and the mini versions? (eg: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=B0BB628WT5VVP5VGM1HP)

And with that $20 I would highly recommend upgrading that CPU. You should really spend the vast majority of your money on the GPU and CPU (I think it is a mistake to spend more on your MOBO, case, and psu than your cpu). I think you could get an i5 in this build for sure if you get the gpu from amazon and find a less expensive mobo and psu (go with the 500 B from EVGA for great value if you don't mind non-modular).

Otherwise it looks like this is gonna be a great build!

u/oliverselya · 1 pointr/buildapc

Are you commited to spending 300-500 USD or is all you want 30-60fps in 1080p. Although I don't endorse gaming at under 60 fps if that's what you want you could get a 1050ti for 150 USD and play most games 1080p 60fps on max settings and more demanding games max settings at 45fps. The gtx 1070 is a high end gaming card destined for gaming in 1440p at above 60fps. If you don't have a 1440p or a 144hz monitor it may be a waste of money.

Id recommend a gtx 1050, this card does not require dedicated power. The one I have linked is the 4gb version, it is available in 3gb and 2gb variants also, I’d recommend 4 if your budget will stretch to it, but if not the 3gb version will play most games on medium settings. Dimensions: 5.7 x 1.5 x 4.4 inches (5.7 being the length, and 4.4 being height.) the height is what you need to watch out for here, you need to make sure you will have enough clearance to put on the side panel once the card is installed, I’m not sure if the dimensions are listed for the case but if not I would check it out before purchasing the card. Aside from that, it is a decent card and would be a significant upgrade from your current card.

If thats the case, What parts can I look into that are comparable to high end that wont completely break me?(even if I have to buy in pieces) Im sure that Ryzen 5 is great, but there is better for a decent price, no?

And tell me about it. I started to figure that out when I asked for help. The kid is smart and has a killer rig, but apparently he likes to give me the run around. He recommended [this] (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ), going on to say that he runs a [GTX 1060] (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-03G-P4-6160-KR/dp/B01KUADE3O/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1536664980&sr=1-2&refinements=p_89%3AEVGA%2Cp_36%3A1253506011) in his and that I should spring for that if I have the extra cash.
I dont know any more. Those are both in my price range, but I cant help but feeling like there is better for the same price, like [this one for example] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KMVHB6M/ref=psdc_284822_t1_B01KUADE3O). What would you personally recommend on this? I just dont know much about building yet, and I cant trust me self to make a good decision when it comes to these things, which is why I posted in the first place. I feel so cheated.

I appreciate all the advice and info. I get the feeling you arent going to give the run around so any personal recommendation are great. You have been awesome. Thank you.

Total custom PC building noob here. Had a friend help me out each time I wanted to upgrade, but thinking about doing it myself this time. I want to upgrade my graphics card and was wondering if someone could let me know if the one i'm planning on buying is compatible with my current motherboard.

Planning on buying a EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC.

My current motherboard is a Z87M MSI Gaming Motherboard.

Would these two work together? Any help would be super appreciated!!

Okay great!

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 3847. It has:

Processor: Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.60 GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400

When I put this info into this it says I need to upgrade my graphics card to play iRacing.

I've found a few online, but I'm not sure if they are compatible with my computer and/or if I need to upgrade my Power Supply.

For example, I'm interested in this card

Also, how complicated is replacing the GPU? I use this computer for school and work, so I'm worried about screwing it up in the process

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MF7EQJZ looking at this one and it doesn't look too steep, almost willing to take the risk someday. I've literally lost or damaged almost all of my Xbox 360 games and my other consoles were fucking sold because my family needed the money. How I will never forgive the time my original Xbox was sold, I even had an N64 and SNES but got rid of that too, life sucks.

For that PSU this is what i would recommend. An EVGA gtx 1050ti SC GAMING

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1493141328&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1050ti

Wont need any extra power connector and will run just fine. The only thing holding back your System is your Processor

i wont recommend getting anything higher as your CPU will be bottle necking those cards

Sure you can discord me, i am active there

thanks for the reply, would this be good? Sorry it's been a long time since I've actually put together a PC, got lazy and cheap. and then i found this for a PSU?

I appreciate the help

When I Googled 1050ti, this was literally the first result

I'd recommend getting a GPU like a Zotac or EVGA 1050 Ti. These, and other 1050 Ti models, don't require an additional power connector, which the power supply in your prebuilt may not have. You don't need a beefier GPU for Overwatch, it ran fine on the 750 Ti I used to have.

  1. It varies. Ground Zeroes, Titanfall 2, The Witcher 3. V-Sync is on. Sometimes it drops from 60 to around 40 and quickly goes back up. Settings are high across the board.

  2. I have this model: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1524085511&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1050+ti

And these are the specs my PC has: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/hh6ODIuTdH4YLj1P1xSv1t2

I live in New York and the temperatures have varied for the past month or so. I don't know what you mean by type of airflow.

Is this it? Don't forget I'm really new to all these GTX, TI, 7700K terms you guys are using. Google is my friend right now lol

So I'm looking at parts, and I think I'm leaning between these two:

EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC (@ $184.99) and EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (@ $222.89)

There's a few differences based on the comparison at the bottom of the 1060's webpage.
The 1050 has 4GB compared to the 1060's 3GB.
The 1050 supposedly has a clock speed of 7,010 MHz vs the 1060's clock speed of 1,607 MHz, this just doesn't seem right?

What exactly is better about the 1060? Because right now I'm leaning towards the 1050.

Looking to upgrade my graphics card. Currently have a Dell Inspiron 3847 with a 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4790 4.0 GHz and 8 GB DDR3 but of course, with intel hd graphics. I've done a little digging online and have read that a 1050ti would fit? I believe i have a stock 300w psu. Would this work without any additional upgrades? What sort of settings would that get me? Thanks.

I'm planning on buying a GeForce 1050 Ti, how do I figure out what power supply it needs? I can't find that out on any site I've tried.

Thank you for the help

u/mattconenna · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Hey, so ive been looking into the 1050ti and I found this.
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

My pc runs a 250w power supply, but do you think my pc can handle this even though it is recommended for a 300w power supply?

u/Hkatsupreme · 1 pointr/pcgaming

Hi all. New to this sub. So I have an XPS 8700 (please don't make fun of me) and these items are being shipped to me: ASUS Monitor and a 1050 Ti graphics card Im assuming the monitor is fairly easy to hook up, but what about the graphics card. Anything I need to take care of before I open the computer? Thank you@

u/yerdabest · 1 pointr/nvidia

All right, so I have a question about upgrading GPUs. I have an Asus RoG G20AJ (https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG_G20AJ/) that has a GTX 750. I've been looking around to see if I can upgrade it to a reference GeForce GTX 970 (https://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR5-Express-Graphics/dp/B00UNF2XRK/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484592325&sr=1-1&keywords=NVIDIA+-+GeForce+GTX+970+4GB+GDDR5+PCI+Express+3.0+Graphics+Card). The problem is that there's a cheaper 1050Ti EVGA https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=sr_1_7?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484595391&sr=1-7&keywords=nvidia+geforce+gtx+1060). I saw a video talking about how the GPU that goes into this computer has to be a "closed-loop" cooling system, and I have no idea what that means or if I can even put these GPUs in it. Thanks, yerdabest

u/emj1014 · 0 pointsr/pcmasterrace

That would be correct. I didn't want to spend the money on building my own unit, and according to the research I did, which apparently wasn't enough, I should be able to run FO4 with this rig. I guess that isn't correct.

Would this help?:

Hmmm... those seem a bit out of my price range. I was hoping to pick one up for ~$100-150.

How about this one?

Edit: or this one?
