Sir Bobby the man is possibly the most respected football figure who has ever lived in the English game. Such a gentleman in every sense of the word with a measure of pride, honesty and loyalty that separated him from the modern game. And yet he never lost his common touch developed from working down the mines, nor his ability to inspire all those around him.

People often say how he brought Jose Mourinho and AVB into the game but it isn't mentioned how many great players he worked with and how many remained as devoted to him years later as they ever were. Even people like yourself who never met him have a deep respect and admiration for him, and I have literally never met anybody in the game who had anything but the enormous praise and respect for him.

As somebody else mentioned, his autobiography is a fantastic read (it has 21 reviews on Amazon and the lowest is 4 stars) and I always state that this is the one book which football fans should read in every "book thread" that comes along here, and I've read just a stupid amount of football books.

The world is a less great place now that Sir Bobby isn't in it. Above all of the Man City players and managers of the past, Sir Bobby Robson remains my ultimate hero; the man who I aspire to be both professionally and personally.

Sir Bobby Robson's autobiography.

An absolute must read for any football fan. Hilarious, insightful and at times quite sombre. Great look into the life of a legend.
