You can also use Xbox One and PS4 controllers on the Switch as well. I personally use an Xbox One Elite controller for BotW

I bought this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B073ZFPJLQ?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_yo_pop_mb_pd_t2

It works well, but no vibration. You can get two for the price of one controller.

u/gadgetmg · 11 pointsr/RocketLeague

This is another option as well. It's a little cheaper. I bought it to use my Xbox One Elite controller with the Switch.

u/bites · 8 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I bought one of these and it works surprisingly well.

I think there are also a couple other companies that make a similar product.

u/FReeDuMB_or_DEATH · 8 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

With this you can use a PlayStation 4/3 or Xbox 360/one cord wired. I just ordered one from Amazon and got it the other day it works pretty good.

Did you know Amazon will donate a portion of every purchase if you shop by going to smile.amazon.com instead? Over $50,000,000 has been raised for charity - all you need to do is change the URL!

Here is an adapter. Your controller has to have a wired connection with this one and I think you have to map the Elite by first plugging it into a PC and using the Elite App. But, from what I've seen it should work well and could even potentially be used with a USB-C adapter to work in tabletop mode. I think MayFlash makes one that supports a wireless controller connection but I haven't looked into it as much.

u/Porkpants81 · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

This one has gotten good reviews and seems to be simple

I just got this I posted the link below it's only $17, and let's me use my Xbox one controller with my switch. It works perfectly and just saved me a lot of money than to buy another controller since I have three Xbox one controllers already. It works with PS4 controllers as well if you have one.

amazon has some adapters available that plug straight in to the dock usb port. They also make a USB2.0 to USB-C dongle to plug in to the handheld unit but idk why you'd ever want to do that. The main advantages of an xbox controller compared to switch is that switch triggers are binary, where as xbox triggers are analog. This gives you more throttle control.

u/Kpervs · 3 pointsr/SwitchHaxing

If you're talking about this, then yeah I already saw it. However, I was hoping to do something wireless, as well as I'm kinda curious how to go about it myself as a project, I guess. Just looking to see if there were any resources to pour over.

u/Genostigma · 3 pointsr/dbfz

I got the fastsnail one on Amazon. And it has worked wonders for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

u/Tizerak · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Never mind checked Google and found this. Says it works for PS 3 & 4 controllers https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

u/MouFMassTeR · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Yes it's true and you need a adapter. I use thisone to play with a xbox 360 controller and a logitech F710 and its work perfectly. Its plug and play. I know there is other adapter too but never try them.

Yeah, I found them on Amazon, here: FastSnail Controller Converter for Nintendo Switch, Makes PS3/PS4 Dualshock/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE Controllers Compatible with Your Nintendo Switch, Support Vibration, with Type-C OTG Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_k.ngAbJP36ATW

u/mouthsmasher · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I've got the pro controller, and it's pretty great. It's so much more comfortable and nicer to use than the joycons. I really do think the Xbox One controller is better though, so I also bought one of these, which lets you use an Xbox controller with your Switch. One downside is that it has to be plugged in with a cord, and the other is that the A/B and X/Y buttons are reversed. By plugging the little adapter into a PC, you can switch the buttons around though.

u/dannyankee · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Hows the input lag and can you connect multiple controllers at once? Does gyro work with PS4 controllers?

I bought the coov n100 like a month back because I don't mind it being wired its the small black one got it off ebay for 10, think fast snail sells it on amazon now for 17 . Best 10 bucks I've ever spent on an accessory. This

My PS4 controller plays like it was meant for switch gyro rumble and all. But for a few bucks more if this does all that plus allows you to connect as many controllers as you like I'd say this is a no brainer if you want something like it.

u/Lockheed_Martini · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Just read the reviews. Also I have it and can assure you it works great. https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Dualshock-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

You do have to update it to get rumble and gyro working though. But it's litterally drag and drop a file onto it. You can get it cheaper on eBay I read.

u/Carda39 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

If she's good with a PS4 controller, you could try this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_5vDHzbKG3W2E8

I haven't had a chance to try it for myself yet but it looks like a potential solution that's way cheaper than a Switch Pro controller.

u/CosmicOwl47 · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I got my brother-in-law one of these adapters so he could use an Xbox or PS4 controller on his switch, it might work for the XAC as well

u/nullmother · 2 pointsr/Fighters

https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

Definitely this baby. Small, cheap, and works with 360,Xbone,Ps3, and PS4 controllers

u/CaptainHollyShort · 2 pointsr/RocketLeague

In case you're interested, there is this controller adapter on Amazon. Not sure if it increases input lag though, may make the situation worse.

u/1bitwonder · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I prefer this adapter, it has analog joysticks and gyro support on PS4 controllers.

u/LazerBarracuda · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

That D-pad looks pretty horrific. For a player 2 controller, I'd go with this adapter assuming you have an Xbox 360/One or Dual Shock controller. I got mine today and it's excellent. The only real downside is there's no gyro features, which is expected.

u/Guinnessnomnom · 1 pointr/gaming

If you have another gaming console check this.

Personally using it with an Xbox one controller and I love it.

u/Black-Sheep-38 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I got this more than a year ago and haven't had one problem the only thing is the two bottom left buttons like A,B are opposite on the switch so your xbox controller reads it backwards so you have to map those opposite.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/RocketSammael · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

I also use the Elite controller and utilize the paddles on the back, which is the #1 reason I've yet to buy the Switch.

Have you looked into anything like this? (This may be a solution for those of us who want to use another controller)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

u/jeff88888 · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

I got something called a fastsnail adapter on Amazon and I can now use either a wired PS4 or XB controller. Works fairly well too. The problem isn't solely the joycons though. Even on 360 controller I can't half flip on the Switch, whereas it's easy on PC/Xbox.

u/Matt2005USAF · 1 pointr/AlternativeAmazonVGF

It would be nice if they did but if anybody really needed it you can use this controller on PS4 and Switch as well already through the use of adapters.

https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

Here is a Switch one.

u/fcosm · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

there's also this one. wonder which one's better

u/Doedel51 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I have not tried it personally, but there are solutions like a dongle with a wired xbox 360 controller:

This would be the dongle:

https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

But I don't know if you can use 3rd party controllers with that.

u/TrustAvidity · 1 pointr/SwitchHaxing

The specific one I got isn't listed anymore. I think they might've replaced it with a newer model. This one looks identical though and it's the same price I paid for mine. I don't think it matters if it's an Xbox One or One S controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

u/Wolfy76700 · 1 pointr/nintendo

It's still a DS4 stick placement, but if you're looking for smaller controllers, you can try the HORI Mini pads for PS4. They're OK for children, although I think they do lack the gyro

Then you can just add a converter to make it work. It also works with all XB360, XB1 and PS4 controllers so that can help saving money on controllers themselves as well.

u/confuscious_says · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I use [this](fastsnail controller converter for nintendo switch, makes ps3/ps4 dualshock/xbox one controllers compatible with your switch, support vibration, with type-c otg cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_94gvCb1596DEE) and it works

u/kynax · 1 pointr/SwitchHaxing

Could you use a converter to plug in a wired Xbox controller?
Something like this : https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542654028&sr=8-3&keywords=switch+xbox+controller

You'd still have to play in handheld mode to remove the motion control requirement but at least you could have the switch on a table and interact with a normal controller.

u/RayCharlizard · 1 pointr/PS4

https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/

I don't think there's a single device that will work with Switch and PS4/Xbox, you'll need a separate adapter depending on which console you're using.

This is what I'll do and use my Xbox one controller

u/Viney1 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I would recommend getting a charging dock for the Joy Con if you'll have more than the base 2 pairs. The only way to charge the Joy Con is to have it connected to the system and in the dock (or the expensive charging grip). With a charging dock like (https://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-switch/accessories/nintendo-switch-joy-con-charging-dock/141872) here, for example, you can pop up to 4 joy con in there easily and charge them at any time.

Also, if they won't be playing the Switch docked and you want extra protection, there is a heavy duty rubberized hard case cover to protect it from drops. https://www.amazon.com/Mumba-Nintendo-Switch-Heavy-Rubberized-release/dp/B071ZRM6C1 <- like the one shown here.

Another thing to mention is that if you're looking for traditional controllers, you could buy 3rd party ones now for much cheaper than the pro controller (although the Pro controller is king). First option could be a cable for $16 that allows you to use your other console controllers with the Switch. https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ

The other options are about $30 and luckily come in many styles, but the only caveat is that they are wired, like the one I'll mention next.
https://www.amazon.com/Wired-Controller-Plus-Super-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B075DNGDWM

Aside from that info, only other thing I'd say is that the physical game cartridges are small, about same size as a 3DS cartridge, so you'll have to plan that out accordingly. ;)

Good luck, Santa!

u/JoshuaJSlone · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I haven't used any, but there are a few similar devices from different companies. Magic NS, Game Genie Controller Adapter, and FastSnail Controller Converter at least.

u/LowFlyingLion · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

I use this, works very well.

https://www.amazon.com/FastSnail-Controller-Converter-Controllers-Compatible/dp/B073ZFPJLQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1519420269&sr=8-4&keywords=switch+controller+adapter

I still dont like playing on the switch coming from pc, more of a novelty to me than anything else.
