Articles from reputable sources are a decent source of knowledge, but some quality business books will get you an infinitely better understanding of concepts. Here is my personal business book list if you want to get a "universal generalist" understanding of business:

The BEST book I have read on business finances is Financial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs.

I'm surprised I don't see it mentioned below. I've read hundreds of business books and it's the only book that really taught me how to read financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and glean actionable insights into my business. I took accounting in college, and it was all based on huge companies. This book is written to help small business owners and entrepreneurs who maybe aren't math gurus understand how the numbers affect their bottom line and the health of their business... and see when they might get into trouble.

Highly recommend it.

Say no more, fam.

You don't need a degree to run a business. Having your own business allows you to experiment with these books first hand instead of taking some professor's word for it. Professor's usually just read what the book says. If they were actually good at running a business they'd probably be doing that.

I opened my business in September of 2015. My accountant was speaking a foreign language to me.

This book was a game changer for me.
