Stick to Lester W Grau's work to this topic: it might not be 'perfectly complete' and is surely 'ground forces oriented', but is - by far - the best (and its 'ground forces orientation' is a direct result from the way the Russians understand, plan and fight their wars).

Foremost, it excels in explaining how the Russian military thinks and 'works', starting from the top all the way to the bottom. Combined with translations of the Military Doctrine of the Russian Federation, and such work by Piotr Butowski like Flashpoint Russia, it helped me immensely in understanding what are the Russians doing in Syria (and why) while working on Moscow's Game of Poker.
