Top of my list for this would be Will Wight's Traveler's Gate Trilogy. There's a great mix of different types of abilities in there, as well as a unique way of earning powers. His Crucible series also fits, but it leans much more on the martial arts side.
You might also like Sanderson's Stormlight Archives, although there isn't quite as much magic as in Mistborn just yet.
Finally, you might enjoy my own War of Broken Mirrors books, although they lean more toward the magic side of the spectrum. There are definitely some flashy fight scenes, but you'll have to get about half way into the first book to start seeing them.
