you should include tax if you're planning on buying from a brick & mortar store for a more accurate projection.

i don't really have anything to say, as there is nothing inherently wrong with your build. but if you're trying to stay true to a budget, you should really be asking yourself if you NEED every single thing.

•a 6950 will perform almost as well as a single 580 at half the price, whereas crossfired 6950s will absolutely dominate any one gpu.

•ssds are great luxuries, but keep in mind that 128gb of space will not be sufficient for most needs. you will need an additional hdd (~$70) to support your ssd ($150). ssds do nothing besides improve load times. that $150 you spend on one could go towards your gpu instead! keep in mind that it's always a possibility to add on a ssd afterwards.

•a lot of your final total goes towards peripherals (~$500). do you need two new screens immediately or can you bare with the one you already have for now? is a $90 webcam really necessary, or will a $7 from amazon be sufficient?

black friday's coming up and is likely to have huge deals on things like monitors and webcams and whatnot. i imagine there won't be some huge sale on things like gpus and processors, so i just went ahead and ordered all of my basic pc components.

I got a little better processor and twice the RAM. He might be happier with the all-in-one, though. He wants wireless input devices with an all-in-one desktop, so maybe he values a clutter-free desk.
