If they both have red switches and have similar design, what's the difference between this and K83 that has been cheaper (and with number pad)?
This is a no-frills board for forty bucks, no rebates required but it is Cherry MX Red, not Brown: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That keyboard has a pretty good disscount
Get Ryzen 5 1600 instead of i5. I'd recommend this Gigabyte K83 keyboard. It doesn't have RGB but is mechanical (Cherry MX Red acc. to the product listing).
read the wiki's
post questions on the sticky
watch YT review vids
and if you really want a really introductory gaming keyboard try a cherry mx red or equivalent. Here are some I googled for you:

have fun.
There's plenty of good mechs for less than the price of the k55. The E-Element z88 is full size with all the RGB you could want, and a few switch types (also comes in a more compact layout if you want that). If you want cherry switches for whatever reason there's this Gigabyte Board with kinda crummy keycaps but 2 switch options and I've personally been using it for a few months and I like it fine. Point being that there are plenty of mechanical keyboards for less than the $50 dollar price point and those are just the ones I've used (or used their equivalent) so I'm using those for examples.
Would you guys recommend any of the following boards?
G.SKILL RIPJAWS KM570 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX RGB Brown
iKBC KD104 PBT Full Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch, Black Case
Gigabyte Mechanical Cherry Red Keyboard (GK-FORCE K83 RED)
If not, is there any other good deal you'd recommend? Preferably at Newegg since I have a gift card but if it's a good deal I'll shop elsewhere
RGB would be nice, I also only have experience with black and green switches but I'm willing to branch out (was looking at browns mainly)
Thanks!
Get the Gigabyte Force K83. Cherry MX reds and it's $40.00

Thanks for the heads up. This might just be worth it :)
This one is what you meant, right?
CCC shows April 13 is lowest price ever at $58.25, sold by Amazon.ca
https://ca.camelcamelcamel.com/Gigabyte-Mechanical-GK-FORCE-K83-RED/product/B01BMJ0Y4O?active=price_amazon
But Amazon.ca is only showing 3rd party new and best price is ~$121
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B01BMJ0Y4O/psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAJ7T5BOVUVRD2EFYQ
Anyone know what's happening with the CCC feed?
Indecisive person here. Help me pull the trigger on a keyboard.
I've been scouring the wiki and reading links and am beginning to feel a little overwhelmed. Now Amazon has this Gigabyte Mechanical Cherry Red Keyboard (GK-FORCE K83 RED) keyboard for $80 with a $20 mail-in rebate bringing the cost down to $60. Seems like a nice entry into mechanical keyboards but delivery is 1-3 weeks.
Environments: I work almost all day long. If I am awake, I'm typically at a keyboard 7 days a week. The day job is a Windows 10 PC in a cube environment. At the house, I'm working on a Macbook Pro.
Keyboards I've been considering:
I've looked at others but I think it is coming down to these.
So, how do I choose? That Gigabyte keyboard seems like a steal but that's $60 which could be put toward the Kinesis. I was going to go with the Code because of a review but then I saw some questionable reviews out there too. The Das Ultimate just sounds cool. I've spent the day not looking at my keyboard to see if I could pull it off and I'm ready.
Perhaps I should just delay getting into mechanical keyboards and buy a GoPro instead.
so uh, thoughts on it? I wanna pick it up but I don't know if I should get these browns or this cherry mx red one for $4 more

also this is coming up to $37.99, not sure if error or not
If you're a student in high school or college, see if your school or college department has a Microsoft Imagine subscription, which could get you your windows license for free. That'll save a lot.
The K55 isn't mechanical, just a heads up. It's not half bad as a membrane keyboard though If you want mechanical with white backlighting, the Logitech G610 has sold on amazon for $60 a few times and uses Cherry MX Reds. There's also the Gigabyte Force K83, which lacks dedicated media and volume keys and backlighting, but is a steal at $40 (an LED desk lamp can kinda solve the lack of a backlight. I use the Logitech in my home office and the Gigabyte Force at work.

You can get the SuperNOVA 650 G3 for $10 less:
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-220-G3-0650-Y1/dp/B01LYGFRL6/
Otherwise, the only other thing I could think of is getting a Micro ATX board (shorter and usually 3-4 PCIe slots as opposed to ~7, most people don't use more than 3) to get the price to around $90. The ASRock AB350 Pro4 is around $90, despite being an ATX board:
https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-AB350-PRO4-ATX-Motherboard/dp/B06WWF165R/
NewEgg has it in stock at the same price with a guarantee that it's Ryzen 2000 ready.
Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy it.
You are absolutely right, I clicked and posted the wrong board. I was originally looking at this one, https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mechanical-GK-FORCE-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481185505&sr=8-1&keywords=gigabyte+mechanical+keyboard , but I noticed the one he was looking at was RGB, so I clicked the RGB Gigabyte board which as you corrected me, doesnt have Cherry Switches.
As cheap as it gets for Cherry MX keys
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Y0HKBbE2J4FSR
is your budget supposed to cover everything?
for $1000 you can certainly pull it off
PC
Keyboard
Monitor

If you want to stay within the $700 range, you'll probably want to consider building your own PC.
I think gigabyte makes pretty solid budget keyboards with red switches, there are a couple here for about $39,
https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Mechanical-Keyboard-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537373747&sr=8-3&keywords=mechanical%2Bred%2Bswitch%2Bkeyboard&dpID=41XdHzFV9sL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1
the K83 has cherry mx switches, "cherry" being a name brand, it's not backlit so the keycaps are printed and some people had letters wear off
the XK700 is rgb backlit but you can set the colors to a single color if you want, I think the keycaps are double shot so lettering shouldn't wear off, also the switches are a knockoff brand of cherry mx
If MX Red switches are fine for you, and you want something super cheap for the office, you could go with this https://www.amazon.ca/GIGABYTE-Mechanical-GK-FORCE-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1542506245&sr=8-4&keywords=mechanical+keyboard for under $50 and just throw a PBT keycap set on it. That's what I did for my work keyboard - granted I only go in the office 1 day a week typically and work from home the rest, and it feels decent enough.
GIGABYTE Mechanical Cherry Red Keyboard
Velocifire VM01 Mechanical Keyboard 104-Key Full Size with Brown Switches
Redragon K551 Gaming Mechanical USB Keyboard with Blue Switches
TECWARE Phantom 104 Mechanical Keyboard
The only one out of the above I can personally vouch for is the Tecware Phantom as that's the keyboard that's I'm currently using, but I think these are solid options for the price.
Right now that KB is $39.24 on Amazon in the US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O
I think this one could work just fine, if you don't want to be loud, pick the K83 Red one, the red switches are the quietest ones in general. Hope it helped!
Hi,
Don't know if you're still looking for one but the Gigabyte K83 is an excellent keyboard. It comes with cherry reds and there's no backlighting of any kind but if you don't mind that, you can get it for as low as 2.4k (nehru place, new delhi) and it's currently available on amazon for 3.4k. It was my first board and is highly recommended.
For that price I would go with one of the gigabyte ones like this: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Mechanical-Keyboard-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1539021067&sr=8-7&keywords=mechanical+keyboard
This one (http://www.zalman.com/na/contents/products/view.html?no=6) sometimes goes on sale for very cheap, I just managed to pick one up for 25 dollars + 8 dollars shipping. Very decent for the price.

Hello, I've been planning to get a new mechanical keyboard for a while now, and I've found 2 deals. Which one should i choose? Which one is better if im going to be playing games like these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhxCWPWVdwc
https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mechanical-GK-FORCE-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H4IKUAG/ref=twister_B01I6DJT7C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Please help me decide :)
You can also recommend me some, but i doubt most of them will be available in my country, and shipping from US costs 20$~
