Your friends are wrong, the Vega 56 can sometimes take on the 1070ti. The 56 is great for triple A games at 1440p. Also depending where you live you, I have found it for cheaper than 299.

Edit: found it cheaper, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LT39Z7/?tag=pcpapi-20

50% de los reviews de amazon son de 1 estrella. Puros comentarios de que la wea es super inestable y se cae después de 10-30 minutos.

Evítenla como la plaga.

At the risk of sounding like an asshole: your first mistake was unfortunately buying a Gigabyte card. I remember buying a Gigabyte brand GTX 660 ti years ago, and it was the worst card I ever bought. Every game would crash for no reason. I thought it was a driver issue, until I found a huge forum thread filled with people complaining about that specific card. No other GTX 660 ti's had problems. After a back and forth with Newegg, I got a refund and bought another card. I've also had a bad experience with their mobo's, but that's another story.

Everything you described sounds like a faulty card. It exhibits the same consistent behavior across Windows and Linux. That 600w be quiet! is a high quality psu and should be enough for it (I'm currently using a corsair sf600 600w sfx psu with my Vega 56 and it's just fine.) Gigabyte in general is probably the worst vendor for AMD cards, and your particular card has shit reviews on Neweggand Amazon. I would say try and return it for a refund. If you want another RX Vega 56, pick up either a Power Color Red Dragon, or Sapphire Pulse. I own and can vouch for the Power Color Red Dragon: my crazy ass barely managed to stuff it into a Fractal Design Core 500 mini itx case, but it still manages to run cool and relatively quite compared to my previous R9 Nano. It's been totally stable, no problems at all.

You don't need a Vega 64. A 590 should be good enough for what you want now, but If I were you I'd consider a vega 56 at this price to ensure you'll be good for the next competitive FPS that comes out.

For CPU, you'd literally be good with an $80 2200G. But like before, you want to get something better than that so that "overwatch 2" will still run well. And for that, the 3600 is probably the best value, and the most powerful. But the 2600X would save you $50 and still probably be good enough for overwatch 2. The 2600-non-X might not be, and the extra cores of the 2700 won't do anything for you.

FYI, Those games are not considered AAA. They are competitive games.

Check the reviews there.

There's more, but I can't go listing everything.

I'll tell you, from personal experience, the Nitro series is far from overrated. I've had two Nitro series cards, myself, and had nothing but good experiences. What makes you convinced they are overrated? The reason the Nitro cards are popular, is not marketing, it's because Sapphire consistently has been delivering quality products as far as I'm concerned.

I don't doubt the Asus one has issues, I've heard of it. I do my fair share of research before buying anything, hence I settled on either the Sapphire or Powercolor cards.

If I go with a Vega 56, would you say that an extra $15 is worth it for the Sapphire Pulse model over this Gigabyte one?

For this I would suggest pricing it both ways as a do it yourself build and as a prebuilt from say NZXT, Ibuypower, or maingear. It will probably be cheaper to build it yourself but you never know. I would expect somewhere in 600-800 range for 1080p 144hz. Which for siege is a lot better than 60 hz. I would suggest an R5 2600x cpu(150),vega 56 for around 270( here is a good one (https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Radeon-Gaming-Graphic-GV-RXVEGA56GAMING/dp/B079LT39Z7/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1VRV8YBVF0023&keywords=vega+56&qid=1558295542&s=gateway&sprefix=vega+%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-3), 500GB ssd(50-100) sata should be fine, 16GB ram 2666Mhz or higher(150) 2x8GB sticks, Motherboard(MSI B450 tomahawk) 120, and finally a case which really depends on how you want it to look so I am assuming a decent NZXT or something for around for a total of around 800. You might be able to go a little cheaper on the GPU but off the top of my head it is between vega 56 and 1660ti for 144hz and vega is about the same price and better performance. You may also be able to find some motherboard + cpu deals that lower the price a bit as well.

EDIT: I forgot PSU so add another 50-75 bucks. This does not include mouse and keyboard or monitor and is a little higher end than the barebones you could probably get away with but not by much. If you are on a strict budget look at the used market for your gpu and maybe even case.

Hmm I'm kinda leaning toward this vega 56 I found, even if it's the same price primarily so I don't have to bother with cooling.

for that price consider an RX 590, or vega 56, one is 10 to 15% worse, 20-25% cheaper, the other is a lot better and slightly more expensive and they come with 2 free games.
