Your skin type would depend on multiple factors, some modifiable, others not so much. If you're genetically disadvantaged, there isn't much you can do. Still, to get the best you can, you should definitely:

• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Prevents dry and oily skin at once, you just can't go wrong with water. Loads of acne issues can be traced to just inappropriate water intake. On that note, it's important you keep sugar and fat intake to a minimum - heard both being implicated separately for irritating acne - for me it was oil and junk. Honestly, nothing works as well as hydration and nutrition does.
  
  
• Exercise. Your skin feels great, your body is in shape, and the confidence you gain is probably the biggest factor in improving your looks and health.
  
  
  
• Wash your face but not too often either. 2-3 times a day. If skin gets too dry, moisturize. Cetaphil is a decent moisturizer you can use on your face and body. Derm-recommended.

• Sun protection. SPF 40 would be plenty enough even for the fair skinned. I recommend La shield, very effective, non-greasy, waterproof and great for most skin types. Don't let the price scare you - the thing is effective enough in very small doses, it will last you months.

• Get rid of dandruff, if you have it. You could buy any ketoconazole-based shampoo at your local pharmacy and use it for a month. Dandruff can again cause acne breakouts, esp on the forehead.
  
  
  
• Destress. You can be doing all the above right and still not having as good skin as you should cuz of stress - it's like your body has more important things to worry about. On a serious note, stress puts your hormones to weird levels, so youre gonna be affecting your skin and hair among others.
  
  
• Consult a skin doctor once in a while, especially if you're at the end of your rope. Helped a ton for me personally, and also, sometimes an underlying medical condition would be apparent only via skin lesions - acne, pigmentation, itch, hairfall, and dealing with those would require treating the underlying disorder.

It's slightly more expensive than usual ones in the market, but it was dermatologist-recommended, isn't greasy at all, and a tiny dollop is enough to smear all over your face, so it ends up lasting longer. I used to use Lotus matte finish SPF 40 before, which is pretty decent and cost less than this, but after using this, I've not gone back to it.
