If you want to record 4K, get the Hero 4 Black, which has a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS at that resolution. The Silver is limited to 15 FPS at 3840 x 2160.

The standard housing is good to a depth of ~130 feet, which is the recreational limit. I still prefer to use the dive housing (even at shallower depths), simply because it's rated to 60 meters (about 200'), so it gives me peace of mind.
