That's a great deal and will serve its purpose. Everything gets cheaper when the fancy new models come out. Just buy from a good seller and check these out too, Military tested toughness and has a screen cover. Thanks @ cake day

Yes, it's HIS iPad, not one that's shared.

We teach him to be careful with his things, but a 6 year old is still a 6 year old so we got [a case] ( http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-GB35108-Survivor-Extreme-duty-Generation/dp/B007XOQ3BQ/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1374601669&sr=8-11&keywords=ipad+2+case ) to hedge our bets. Frankly having owned a droid I'm not sure what I'd use an iPad for that I don't have on my phone, but there are a LOT of early education apps there that Android simply doesn't have.

Everything on there is an
Early Education app from the [Montessorium school on Writing, letters, geography] (http://montessorium.com/ ), or [Leap Frog Videos] ( http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_3_9?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=leapfrog%20dvd&sprefix=leapfrog+%2Caps%2C208 ), We also have apps that teach about [music] ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jazzy-day-music-education/id493451508?mt=8 ) and [Astronomy] ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/startracker-hd/id449605942?mt=8 ) etc... We use it as a learning tool and not a game machine or baby sitter.

I would check out this website. They are a little more manageable when it comes to price. I would go with one 32 gb and buy a year protection. It is a good site that backs its products. There are also grants available that you can look at. I would go with this case. I would try this app with him. It is a brand new app on the market. I have looked a lot at it and it looks pretty awesome. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I have four kids. All of them have dropped their iPads and cracked their screens.

We bought Otterboxes and Griffin Survivors to keep the glass from falling out. Those cases completely enclose the iPad, including a clear plastic front for the screen. Works beautifully, and no more cracks from dropped iPads.

My personal preference is the Griffin Survivor. The foam rubber on it makes it nicer to grip.
