I have three recommendations for you: acquire a coherent understanding of Christian theology (one excellent resource being one of William Lane Craig's lecture series on Reasonablefaith.org) and the philosophical underpinnings of both atheism and Christianity, how they differ and how Christianity is well evidenced and rationally justified.

I highly recommend you take this very question to Reasonablefaith.org, where one of the foremost analytic philosophers with a specialization in debate on the question of God's existence and Christianity's rational justifiability today has archived hundreds of answers to these sorts of questions. William Lane Craig's books Reasonable Faith and On Guard are also other excellent resources for studying the rational justification for Christianity, its evidence and coherence and theology.

Another read which I believe would certainly be of great help to anyone seeking an informed opinion on whether God exists and whether this God is that from classical theism is The Last Superstition by Edward Feser (whose blog has also been an excellent resource for me, for example, it has helped me understand the doctrine of divine punishment and how God could allow a man to be in hell and what hell is according to Christianity and not folklore). (Note: his upcoming book Five Proofs for the Existence of God is bound to be an excellent general work of natural theology, the category of theology that crosses largely over to philosophy in its enterprise to provide evidence for the existence of God and Christianity in general). Atheist Delusions: Christianity and its Fashionable Enemies is an excellent treatise on refuting the historical argument against Christianity given by the New Atheists (that "Christianity poisons everything", is largely the source "of all human savagery", and that a secular state will surely be "utopia").

Mere Christianity (by C.S. Lewis) and Simply Christian (by N.T. Wright) are also two great reads for Christians looking for a fresh perspective on what they have come to feel is more-or-less trite and lifeless teaching. These are less philosophical and mores-so written for a popular audience.

As for resources on the historicity of the Bible and the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I recommend the following:

An article by Peter S. Williams

Article On the Historicity of the New Testament By J.P. Moreland

Audio Resources By Dr. Timothy McGrew (analytic philosopher and historical apologist)

An essay on the historically and historiographically corroborated resurrection of Jesus Christ, explicated by the Bayesian Theorem of probabilities

Undesigned Coincidences that Corroborate the Bible

In determining whether there is a true religion or not, I had to look to history. All other religions can be dismissed as nonfalsifiable or for lacking an equally strong case.
