> Do you mean semi-permanently open it and have a fan fitted into it?

How you choose to do it would be up to you and how well you were able to match fan size to window size.
Any way you can exhaust the hot air- getting rid of it and bringing in cool air from other areas in the house is much more efficient that trying to cool air that is already hot down.

Open the window and measure the width and max height you have available then google "window fan" and find the one that matches the size opening most closely. These types of fans typically have side panel extensions to fit odd spaces.

Example here, here, and here.

Depending on how your window is set up you could use one of these. I just bought one for my S9 and attached it to the screen of an open window (not ideal).

If you are worried about the vent opening you could look at a window vent for a portable A/C unit. Those usually don't have the spring loaded flap and may work with less resistance.

In the past (when i could not put holes in walls and such) I had put my miner as close to the window as possible and ran a window fan like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Bionaire-BWF0522E-BU-Comfort-Control-Thermostat/dp/B00EKW4TBK/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1501262568&sr=1-3&keywords=window+fan). It is a bit cheaper than the dryer vent you posted and is useful after the mining stops if needed.

Hope that helps.

I think mine was a Walmart window fan. It ran about twenty bucks.

This is a little more expensive off Amazon, it's very similar. Mine is three speeds, reversible. I keep an empty Gatorade bottle in my box to spay water through when switching colors, and I can watch the spray come out of the top of the bottle and get pulled right into the filter. Get one with multiple speeds.

If I made a new one, I'd either buy a remote controlled fan or put the filter on the side so I could more easily reach it.

The weaker your fan, the larger the box needs to be. Big box won't give the spray a chance to escape before being grabbed by the fan.

It was a slap job, made it in a few minutes and a fast run to the store, and I've never been dissatisfied with it (except having to get up because the on off switch is on the back of my box).

Meaning, you need to stop the airflow from your apartment to the hallway.

First off: Weather stripping tape around your door.

Second: incense burner near the door. I use a wall mounted one

Third: Decent window fan to push air out vs in

Test with strong non Ganja smells. Start the system, have someone in the hall, spray large amounts of perfume or air spray inside the apt and have your hall friend try to detect it. If you can smell strawberry room spray, you can smell weed.

Trial and error with legal smells is key.

Good luck!!

I don't know about box fans specifically. But I got this window fan I got two of them one to exhaust air into the room and an other to draw in fresh air.

You can set this to only 1 fan on, 2, or all 3. It takes about 15-17 watts per fan. So all 3 would be 45-51 watts.
