A political book about daily life, making friends; not about elections. Political is something that actually changes our lives.

A warning first: difficult to read, but small, so it can be read multiple times. Start from the chapters you find interesting. I'll put some of the main political ideas; you just need to find them in the book:

Rejection of social success: that way you can't be a failure either.

Rejection of marriage, personal relationships, motherhood, as they're all attempt to seem successful; you could do all these things without recognizing them as identities.

De-demonization of violence, evil. If you understand the humanity of these people, first, you won't be afraid of them, second, it'll be easier for them to not be dangerous.

Every time that something repulses you, you have to think "why?". Why do you care? How do you signify it? Maybe if you don't believe in evil people, it won't feel overwhelming.

De-victimization. If "victims" aren't stuck with that social identity, it'll be easier to get over a rape, or not care about their public nudity "exposure".

Idea that everyone is exactly the same inside; all start as same, just make different choices later. Important so you won't believe in better/worse people and helpful to get over your bashfulness (which everyone has).

If you’re more comfortable hugging (or interacting with) certain people due to their appearance, it is social, hence wrong. That’s why caring about appearance is wrong.

Instructions on how to make (deep) friends.

It's on KU and free on kindle on 4 July.
