From a young age i suffered from eczema, dry skin, sun damage, and cystic acne on my face which caused post inflammatory hyperpigmentation on my upper lip and some on my forehead. I was the girl with a 'mustache' for a long time :( I would sometimes use makeup which just ended up making my skin worse because my skin is very sensitive. At its worse, my skin was so bad I remember a boy that I liked said I looked like a monster because my nasty upper lip eczema was peeling and flaking off while the makeup that I applied on top of it was making it look 10x worse :,( /sobstory
Flash forward to today I don't wear makeup, I have no acne (other than the occasional forehead bump if I eat too much sugar), my skin is much more resilient to breakouts of any kind, and my hyper pigmentation is gone. I get compliments and questions but I usually don't recommend people do exactly what I do since everyone's skin problems are different but maybe you can take parts of my regimen and start experimenting. FYI started getting into a stricter regimen about 1 - 2 years ago noticed results about a month or two in and have been adjusting it over time to what it is now.
First of all HYDRATE. SERIOUSLY. I drink at least 96oz of water a day. This makes an incredible difference in your skin. If you don't do anything else, do yourself a favor get a 32 oz water bottle and drink. the. fuck. up.

My skin is not perfect, but it's a complete 180 from where I started. BTW I also got a ton of knowledge from r/SkincareAddiction when I first decided to stick with a regimen, I would start there for more in depth info!
