Obligatory I got this universal remote for $26 and was able to cut down from TV, Sound Bar, Roku remotes into 1 remote. You friend has 1 more remote than I did, but it should still work.

u/unalive3 · 7 pointsr/xboxone

Just so you are aware I also bought One S on Black Friday for the UHD apps (guess I should've done research first), but hardly any of the apps support 4K. The only apps I'm aware of are Netflix (if you subscribe to 4K), Vudu, and obviously the 4K Bluray app. YouTube and Amazon do not support 4K.

I ended up finding a good deal on a Roku 4 and went that route. My Sharp TV's apps don't even support 4K content. Don't buy Sharp :(

Also this remote works for my TV, Xbox One S, and Roku which is totally cool.

u/D3LTA360 · 6 pointsr/xboxone

I know this isn’t what you were asking. But I was in the same situation and bought this remote instead. It’s awesome, just like a normal universal remote but can also control Xbox. Great for Netflix and Blu-ray.

Have this as well, great remote. Use it for everything, including the XBOX one

I'm using this IR repeater and this universal remote. As far as home theater control - mine is bare bones basic. A heavy majority of people who are into this stuff prefer a harmony remote and/or a harmony hub to control their devices. I had a Harmony remote years ago, but out of the blue it quit on me, so I went for something cheaper.

I use Inteset INT-422 4-in-1 Universal Remote only $25 best remote I ever bought with a Flirc and couldn't be happier. I liked it so much I bought a second Remote and Flirc for a second FireTV in my bedroom.

u/AmadeusZull · 2 pointsr/ShieldAndroidTV

A little off topic, I've been a ShieldTV owner for the past 3 weeks and I must say you should buy this remote: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M4I1BAY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The ShieldTV is so much better with this remote. With the same remote you can lock volume control to what ever device you use for audio (reciever, soundbar, tv, etc..)

Also I find the response time on switching with IR to be alot better than worrying about charging your controller. (Also my daughter and wife find it much easier to use.)

(also posted this somewhere else as a reply to a similar post)-

I can't speak highly enough about this remote. I have one and love it, does everything it says it does. I have no affiliation to the company, receive no benefit for recommending it. I just really love how it works.

Inteset INT-422 4-in-1 Universal Backlit IR Learning Remote for Apple TV, Xbox One, Roku & Media Center https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M4I1BAY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Yip6AbCVHD9NS

u/thegamerdug · 2 pointsr/Roku

This one works for me. My roku has a box which is required for the ir reciever to work, won't work if the box is hidden. Does everything you want and you can program macros to turn on/off devices. Can lock the volume buttons to one device Inteset INT-422 4-in-1 Universal Backlit IR Learning Remote for Apple TV, Xbox One, Roku & Media Center https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M4I1BAY/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_nYbOwbV28E37F

I have two of [these] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M4I1BAY/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_id59wbGNYG721) and I love them. They are completely backlit, they have codes for pretty much any device but they also have learning capabilities so our can copy any IR signal. You can also have set up macros, I have mine turn on the TV then sound system with the power button.

u/BiffBiffkenson · 2 pointsr/appletv

I'm using an Inteset which looks the same as a cable remote but works fine, about $25 controls volume, mute, tv input and all the apple functions.

However for me I don't like that its so large so I'm getting an Xbox replacement remote to setup, its a lot smaller., $18 to try and it'll separately control tv volume and mute.

The Harmony express looks great but $250 is too much to spend on a remote imo.

u/spiller37 · 2 pointsr/kodi

I paired the Flicr with this Inteset learning remote and its a fantastic combo. You can teach the remote all the functions of your other remotes and ditch em. Oh, looks like there is a version 2 of the Flicr.

u/VGinNYC · 2 pointsr/DirecTVNow

FYI - If you have a TV that supports HDMI-CEC, you'll be able to control the Apple TV with your TV's remote control. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205225

EDIT - Sorry, that article was how to use the Apple TV Siri Remote to control other devices. But there are tons of articles on the web about HDMI-CEC and the new Apple TV. No programming necessary ... just use your TV remote to control the Apple TV. It's magic!

EDIT #2: Or purchase a decent universal remote, like this one that is already programmed for Apple TV: link

u/Skvli · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I use this for my xbox one AND my 360.(I have two of them) I have to point it at my xbox one rather than my kinect, so that tells me kinect isn't required, and look at that. NUMBER BUTTONS! It works with your TV, sound system, and console. It works like a dream. You can set volume lock so once you choose one volume source, the volume buttons will only change that one source regardless of what input you're on. Also you can learn buttons on a single basis. basically, since numbers have no use on my xbox, but my cable is plugged in through it, i assigned the numbers to affect cable, so that I can be on my xbox input, and use cable all at the same time. Just pick it up and use it. So simple and easy once you set it up. Takes only about 5-10 minutes to do so, and it's so much cheaper than other Universal remotes that can do the same thing. It will even pause and play my chromecast! (I'm not paid by them, I swear. I just LOVE this remote, because it makes my life so easy.)

u/coldcircle · 2 pointsr/htpc

I've used Harmony remotes and now switched to Inteset INT-422. Remote is great and comfortable to hold.

Alright so the one I got is good but bad at the same time. I'm trading it out for a universal remote, mainly for the function of having a guide button. the one I got is the ipazzport controller like one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015J6TEN8

It was easy to set up and use but the problems it had were double clicking sometimes, poor one handed use, and no guide button, which is a deal breaker for me. I've found out that the mi box has an ir receiver on it, so I'm going to be getting this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M4I1BAY

I personally wish it was a bit less old school controller look wise and had a QWERTY keyboard, but what can you do. I was torn between that one and this one, which I will get if the guide button doesn't end up working out:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CL3ZXGO

The other ones I read up on as basically being the dankest nugs are the harmony remotes, but I really can't justify that much money for a remote. Stuff like this has me wishing I would have just gotten a ps4 and gotten the PlayStation remote with it. I will make a new reply to you guys when I get and try out the new remote. Hope some of this has helped!

u/Jenks44 · 1 pointr/cordcutters

This will easily do it, I love mine.

u/BadBrent · 1 pointr/htpc

The Logitech K400/K400 Plus is always going to be your best bet when it comes to wireless keyboards/trackpads, but as for the remote you should probably just look for a used WMC RC-6 USB receiver like the old HP receiver that you see all over for sale for $5-10 shipped, and you can pair it with any of the Logitech Harmony remotes or my personal favorite is the Inteset 4-in-1 Universal Backlit IR Learning Remote. I have a few of these around the house, and they have backlit buttons and they work with not only televisions and other gadgets but it also does Windows Media Center and apps like Kodi, Plex, Emby, etc.

The ones I've tried so far are probably crap; an Inteset 4-in-1 ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M4I1BAY ) and a AUDIOVOX RCRN06GR ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008D6YCW0 ).

u/ATLxUTD · 1 pointr/Roku

Harmony remotes are great but pricey - if you want a cheaper option Inteset INT-422 is great.

I have yet to use it much or program any extra buttons.
But from what i've gathered
there are no codes provided when you get the item

You have to find a "code database" online on their site and it has the basic sections and none for android tv, android, nvidia etc so i asked for the code here.

The contoller did come pre-configured for xbone and seems to work with all the buttons i've tried (again haven't used it much yet)
As far as NASTV it works the same. Its pretty smooth thus far. What little buttons i've tried have worked.
One little thing though the IR on Shield must not be that great as i cant point it outside like a 45 degree view of the box or it won't work.

Also be carefull too beacause i read on their forum that they recently put out a 2nd revision controller that is indentical to the prebious one but has Shield TV support is supposed to be pre-configured. In my process i have ordered both. The one without Shield in the title and one with.
Neither are pre-configured. So i am just keeping the 1st one already with the code and working.
*Also note from my exp and from what i've read its the same thing. Good product but Horrible support. So not expect much from them

1st one i bought

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M4I1BAY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2nd one that has Shield on its Banner headline.

Full disclosure. I hate sling through the xbox and I access it through my Sony tv's android system. The remote works for everything on the xbox though and I have been using it for a while now.

Any thought on the audio multiplexing question I had so I don't have to keep switching inputs? I wonder if this cheapo remote https://www.amazon.com/Inteset-INT-422-Universal-Backlit-Learning/dp/B00M4I1BAY might also work?

i use an inteset with roku tv, apple tv and blueray.
it comes preprogrammed for atv and roku.
it learns buttons and has macros.

It's a very basic app there aren't any new features in it that are in the iOS, Android, or PC apps. If you get a Roku 3 you can mirror an Android phone or tablet to stream the app from there as well as anything else you have on the device. I haven't tested to see if you can mirror an iOS device.

As for a remote, I was told to try this one. Link

u/ObecalpEffect · 1 pointr/hometheater

Most remotes come with a learning feature where you can point one at the other and have it learn/record a code from the other remote. Do you have a replacement remote picked out already? If not, I highly recommend this inexpensive, backlit and learning remote --> https://www.amazon.com/Inteset-Universal-Backlit-Learning-Streamers/dp/B00M4I1BAY

This was the only other universal remote I could find that worked with the Xbone, other than the overpriced Harmony remote. I needed something to work with my TV, sound bar and Xbox. It's great.

I loved that remote. Until the circular button wouldn't click down anymore. I bought a second one and loved it until the same thing happened. Both are unusable because you can't select anything. At $60 a piece, I'm not buying a third.

Ended up getting a different remote which is working out fine.

I just use my $27 Universal remote I got on amazon. Not as pretty, but for a no frills remote it does what i need it to do (controls xbox, sound bar, tv and cable)

Buy one of these for the Apple TV. My wife can use it and she has no tech skills.

I used the "learn remote" function, but 02615 is the Apple TV code for my remote. I use Inteset 4-in-1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M4I1BAY?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

u/DeltaEchoXray · 1 pointr/AndroidTV

I have been using the Inteset 422. I love it. I remapped the back button to the Guide button so when I am watching Vue it always just brings up however I got to the channel I am watching (Mini Guide, Guide, etc.)

I cannot launch apps, however.

u/obguy · 1 pointr/DirecTVNow

Same here. Just barely touching the remote made the channel switch. I got so pissed that I bought a Roku premiere+, but now the channel switching seems much slower than the ATV4. Just less responsive. Next up: ATV4 back up with this remote.

u/djromo · 1 pointr/xboxone

It feels solid as well too.

The best reviewed programmable remote on Amazon: Inteset Remote

Already set up for Roku/Apple TV, etc. Powerful, but intuitive and easy to set up. I just bought a second one to travel with!
