Practice NLP. Read this book first to get the basics.
NLP helped me a lot to think positive and programming my mind to get rid of negative thoughts. Definitely worth it.

well there is a book called "intro to NLP" you don't nessesarily have to read it amazon link if you want to read it, it never hurtsanyway it does give you a concept of what learning is.

i've read it, and basically the learning process follows four stages.

1- unconscious Incompetence- you don't know what you don't know, (you were blind about an ability basically and you aren't aware you don't know it)

2-concious incompetence- you are aware of what you don't know and therefore need to learn to bypass or improve the skill you want to learn. this case speech or speaking.

3- conscious competence- you are aware that you can do it, you are learning and doing, you can apply it but still have to think about it conciously, it takes all attention.

4- unconscious competence- you are competent without even having to think about it (its a habit now, its second nature)

well now that you know this, the book suggest something called "modeling" which is basically a way to accelerate learning. (i think this was taken from engineering concepts idk? or maybe that is normal way or learning by observation and analizing)

for example's sake would be, when you want to learn a skill, and say you don't have a book or a "systematic way" or doing things to measure success or progression, in your case the book can't measure you ability to speak it, although its giving you goals on vocab and shit.

anyway, the book suggest to find someone, in your skill and to really observe what they DO, say for example you are a cook assistant, and you don't know jack shit about learning how to cook or whatever, the book suggest, to find the best guy cook, and sometimes even without asking him, you can learn, just have to be very observant to things, and in a way you Backward engineer what the fuck the person is doing and so you cook,

in this case, you don't have a system to get where you want, say back to analogy you don't have the recepi you can't systematically cook or know beginning from end.

in this case you need to find it, and build your own system or "model" as the book calls it to know if you are improving, basically stateing what you want and the steps to take, model building is bomb in learning.

I think this is "immersion in a nutshell" fucking get sucked into speaking and keep going until you get learn because there is no other way out

anyway,

i like to recommend this language learning vids from youtube,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0yGdNEWdn0 - this guy basically is giving a conference as to what worked for him (this is good experience based so you can build your "model", anyway he talks about how to speak your face sometimes hurt when you are trying new sounds and shit, and that means is good, he also i think learned principles or "modeling" which he mentions.

there was also another tip i got from Youtube also, but can't find vid is to "start thinking in german" which mean you know when you think in english, and you are crossing the street, you mentally say the words in your head "i have to wait for green" "i have to get to the other side by walking" or "i have to wait for the bus" or regular shit you see "oh that red car just passed the red light what a danger" you think this shit,
well the tip of the video was to "say" those things in your daily life, but start, or try, to construct them in german, instead of saying "look the bus" you say "der bus" or start naming this, saying it on your head, or saying it outloud to practice pronunciation, or even imagining spelling it. or those flash cards. with the image and then the name of the object, it helps remember, and actually helps you! its the concept of https://www.memrise.com/ to remember by images and language tricks.

but notice how this shit is kinda like "well that is obvious! kids can do this shit!" well thats the thing is you are learning a new language is like being a kid, when you learned ENGLish it was mostly through immerseion, (there was no way to communicate but in english so there you go you were pushed to learning but you took it baby steps!) taht is why, you have to formulate "stupid" sentences first and then progress to bigger shit, kinda how you grow speaking gibberish then you get more complex in language (that is how it works, baby steps, step by step!) this is i think could be your demise, wanting to start at the top or being pro at speaking when you can't even get your small shit together, don't sweat it

another tip i got was when i was in highschool taking some english class, well one time a sub came in, spanish teacher it turned into a Q&A seminar lol, but she basically said to learn a language she thought it was important to learn something called "phonics" , which basically was a class on sounds, kinda like onomatopoeia, well she said it would help you capture sounds and shit so when you try to pronunciate words.

she liked to make fun of americans who were learning spanish, not because of their incompetence but because of their ego, americans think everybody should at all cost be accomodated with english, wchich they are right, sure america has great influence (economy and military) and turist usually do get acomodated as a result but you have to look beyond ego and actually try to learn a language like learning math and not because you assosiate a culture or a race (being racist) or whatever, it should come to you as a curiousity and really wanting to learn something.

anyway she made fun, in spanish they have this double R sound, used to spell CARRO - meaning CAR, and PERRO meaning DOG, she made fun of how terribly americans were so resitant to actually mimicing her! (modeling) they stuck to their guns and resisted rolling the toungue as the word required you to, their ego was too big. lol. stubborness won't help you learn by the way.

so try that saying things, transcribing things as sounds over say actual spelling, its important to pick up on this! don't worried about pronunciaition, at first! its important that you try, and aren't afraid of looking like a fool because people will likely help you improve, (just like you would help a tourist with his english, someone might help you learn mit denien deutch)

anway i hope i helped, i love learning, it tests you in every corner how willing you are to learn, even tests your commitment to learning, HOPE I helped with your problem, maybe in the future you can help someone just like i did,

ALSO LAST TIP- don't rule out unorthodox learning or unconventional tools, people put value on a university course because of the system its formal, its structured, it measures you, its taught by someone reputalbe and its more reputable and formal schooling which makes it more "great" , but really everything helps from that tip on youtube to a lecture on TEDx to whatever you can find.

i recommend, since you are in uni, and you probably have a laptop or smartphone, to use memrise.com its a free app thing, again its not formal schooling, but still is education and learning. so you could use it on your spare time, while you wait for the bus or are in a waiting room, really squeaze this shit to help you.

a standard learner, your typical student, will use only the book and study enough for the test, and probably forget after that (thats formal schooling for you)

a true learner, engages on the learning the subject, finds ways to stay intrested even if its not 'fun', finds ways of improve, can see what he is lacking, asks questions and takes action to resolving it, takes initiative responsibility and accountabiliy, is even able to apply concepts from his past experiences to learning something new and unrelated, i remember applying concepts not related to the subject to learning the subject.(who would of thought engenirring could apply to learning), hanging around forums (you are here!) and reading books on the subject

everything counts.

edit:or rather a simple tip would be to learn your fanboys in german and try to formulate and even speak gibberish like a child.

"The car is red, but it is also fast"

or shit like "i am from america and i am purple"

really formulate, sentence structure on your head, say it even if it sounds absurd.

that is the way it works man, be a kid and progress into later stages or learning. like keep a conversation going, or story telling.

Wrote that from my mobile. To spell the links out, what can be helpful for you are those:

https://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Attraction-Keep-Make/dp/1402266529/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=arden+leigh&qid=1554639308&s=gateway&sr=8-1

https://www.amazon.com/Art-Seduction-Robert-Greene/dp/1861977697/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=art+of+seduction&qid=1554639377&s=gateway&sr=8-1

https://www.amazon.com/Introducing-NLP-Psychological-Understanding-Neuro-Linguistic/dp/1573244988/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=introducing+nlp&qid=1554639402&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Besides those, a lot of the knowledge base in PUA comes from stuff like

https://www.amazon.com/Evolutionary-Psychology-New-Science-Mind/dp/1138088617/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=evolutionary+psychology&qid=1554639453&s=gateway&sr=8-1

There's probably some more books for both genders, but there's also quite a market for books just for females (like the one by arden leigh), where you can find all sorts of things, like even exotical stuff like

https://www.amazon.com/Ho-Tactics-Uncut-Spending-Sponsoring/dp/0692258841/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ho+tactics&qid=1554639560&s=gateway&sr=8-1

but the issue is pretty much the same one as in the dating / seduction / pickup niche for us guys, you stand in a huge pile of crap and have to search for the gold nuggets on your own.

This is a great book about NLP. NLP is very useful for being able to take a step back and begin to see the things that are holding you back, and change them.

I haven't read this book, but I have heard it is great for finding and understanding the limiting beliefs you have:
