Ardell 110s, Andrea Mod Strip Lash 80s (goes for a subtle dolly eyed look), if you need more volume, I'd pick up the Ardell Demi 120s, and I've been digging the Andrea 53s for every day wear.

I think Andrea, Ardell, and Salon Perfect are great for beginners (which is about where I'm at with lashes). This blog has great advice for cleaning and caring for your lashes, and using these practices will help you get more wears out of your lashes. For storage, I really love raiding Daiso (the Japanese dollar store, locations in CA and WA) for eyelash cases. In fact, if you have access to a Daiso, their false lashes are awesome!

As for application tips, I love using eyelash glue that has an actual brush like Revlon and Duo. A game changer for me was investing in a false eyelash applicator like this one. Ulta has one that is way cheaper than the one I linked, and it is what I use. Most people get by with tweezers, but I could never get it right with them.
