If you want your heart broken even more after a more detailed glimpse of the world that could have been had Kennedy lived and gotten re-elected, check out the book "JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters" which is the single-best researched piece on Kennedy's life, on his presidency, and on his battles with the CIA, the military-industrial state, texas oil men, etc.

It is the most compelling narrative on JFK you'll ever read.

Indeed, although I would have to agree with him on the Kennedy things, there are strong evidences to back it up. James Douglas's book makes a good case using released documents in 2003.

Everyone knows the CIA murdered JFK.

JFK was shot from the front with the exit wound at the back of his head. The CIA arranged a fake autopsy.

Allen Dulles, JFK's enemy, sat on the Warren Commission cover up which produced the ridiculous magic bullet theory.

The MIC got their war in Vietnam with Lyndon Johnson and the CIA wasn't "splintered into a thousand pieces and scattered to the wind" as Kennedy had threatened to do.

The Politico article in the Op-Ed is pure Establishment / CIA disinfo.

This is a good book on JFK's murder:-

JFK and the Unspeakable is an excellent book detailing the CIA's motive for stopping Kennedy. There's an incredible amount of information that's been declassified in the years since the assassination, but the arbiters of discourse in this country have decided that we're not going to consider any of it. They've instilled the belief that anyone who challenges the official government explanation for anything is a crazy person.

You should read the book JFK and the Unspeakable: Why he died and why it matters. It explores how he backed off from being a stern cold warrior after he got into office. He became truly horrified at the possible consequences of a nuclear exchange, and had quite a few real-world Dr. Strangelove types telling him that the US needed to launch a preemptive nuclear war with Russia immediately. Also the CIA was disobeying or misleading him on everything from Cuba to Vietnam, and he wanted to rein them in. He even reached out privately to Khruschev to eliminate the threat of nuclear war, and K began to believe and trust him. They both worked to try to restrain their war-happy crazies. But soon enough the CIA had enough of being restrained. Within 48 hours of JFK's assassination, LBJ rolled back all of JFK's restrictions on the CIA and gave them the go-ahead to ramp up operations in Vietnam. Less than a year afterwards, Khruschev was deposed.

10, What are the chances the Director of Intelligence will never consider a president a threat to national security?

When I read proven, former conspiracy theories like Operation Northwoods I have no problem entertaining the idea that the powerful men behind governments would do anything to keep their power and stifle change.

From what I've read Kennedy was planning on dismantling/reducing the power of the CIA. You should read JFK and the Unspeakable. Why he died and why it Matters. It elucidates this concept in great detail
