As someone not interested in surgery, I bought these. They're only $50 and will easily last me through my surgery/OB/other surgical rotations. They were comfy in the OR and walking around the hospital for 16 hours.
I would also recommend compression socks. They're at least as helpful for preventing foot pain as the shoes are.
I like these Klogs, especially for surgery because they are fully enclosed so your socks stay dry when fluids spill on your feet. They're also easy to clean and slip-resistant, and I'm comfortable all day on my feet in them. They also come in wide sizes! For non-surgery days when I have to do a lot of running around, sometimes I'll wear New Balance sneakers.
