The one thing I ALWAYS recommend is an inflatable camp cushion ( This Klymit V Seat Cushion is the one I use). This thing folds up to almost no space and can be inflated with a few breaths. It saves my butt (literally) when waiting on parades or fireworks, sitting on metal bleachers, etc. My husband thought it was silly until I bought him one and he tried it too, now it's an essential part of his park bag as well.
