I honestly think cut vinyl would be the best bet. You'd probably need to go to a sign shop to get it done. The vinyl will wear a lot better than any paper-based sticker material, and it would be die-cut to the shape so there wouldn't be any material between the individual parts of the bee. Think of the lettering/signage on store windows. I don't have any experience with waterslide type stuff so that I don't know. This paper was my first google hit for waterslide paper. That would probably be the cheapest option, but according to the instructions you need to cover it with an oil-based varnish to make the white bits clear.
I went back through the images and on the second to last image of the guitar, before the 2 case shots, you can see that the bee is matte in comparison to the the gloss of the guitar finish so it's on top and doesn't really look like it has a finish over it.
There is also decal paper if you have access to a printer.
