This cable has been working out very well on my '17 Civic HB. It let's me sit my Note 8 in the center console(diagonally because the USB-C end is too long to sit horizontal).

I feel like the problem with some cables is that they just don't sit well in the USB-C port and if there's no solid seating for the phone any movement can cause the connection to drop.

But I know there definitely a bug with AA or the Civic unit because once in a while I'll get "No device connected", without a USB error message. It's as if the AA service crashed and requires a new connection to re-launch, so I have to unplug it and plug it back in. But this has been happening less and less, thankfully, I just wish they'd update the unit to have Wireless AA, I'd gladly shell out the $$$ for Honda's wireless charging dock.
