Well... most gaming laptops are going to have a SSD. Though laptops selling for above $800 are more likely to both a SSD and hard drive; I don't recall see any laptop having a SSHD.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 could be a possible candidate. It currently sells for $709 and comes with a quad core i5-9300H, GTX 1650, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD (faster than a SATA SSD). However, it is not currently on sale so do not jump on it yet. Simply keep an eye out for it and other similar laptops. Black Friday sales have not started yet.

For under $700 I think the best thing you're going to find is the Lenovo Ideapad L340. Note that this was recently on sale for $600.

I am certain it can play Classic WoW without issue. I don't know much about Farcry and Borderlands 3, but per this excellent video review it can play Witcher 3 on high settings at average FPS >60.

I would recommend this Lenovo Ideapad L340
deal which would be your best option , since it comes with i5 quad core CPU which is one of the best in your budget and great for your usage, 8GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 512GB for faster boot up and loading and it’s more storage than the ASUS,15.6 Full HD IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, and the same GPU as the ASUS.

You should get anything with a I5 9300H or Ryzen 3550H , GPU wise a 1650 mobile is the only choice in that price class. Something like this

Hi there! I'd say you have 3 options. THey all look kinda flashy with RGB keyboards and all, but spec-wise each has their pros:

No problem, people just want to push your own opinions sometimes and not answer the question that was asked.

Looks to be a good one, can defintely handle either engine for game dev

A GTX 1050 isn't very powerful.

I found a way more powerful laptop with a GTX 1650, it's 715$, and ships to South Africa. here's the link: Amazon

Comparing it to this Lenovo on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07VC55LF5/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Looks like the flex has a newer processor and the l340 has a better graphics card right? Am I interpreting that correctly?

After about a million years I'm ready to pull the trigger on a budget gaming laptop, and I have it down to two incredibly similar choices;

This ASUS ROG laptop ...or this Lenovo Ideapad L340.

From what I can see, the specs are basically identical -- I'm hoping for some inside advice as to where the small gains are here. Please forgive the dirty Canadian versions of the websites.

Hey Techstar,

I went ahead and bought the Acer Aspire. It works like a dream, but I saw another deal and now I’m having buyer's remorse. Is it worth returning for this machine?

I seriously believe you should stretch your budget to $700 for this laptop. It's got great specifications making it one of the best casual gaming laptops for its price.

I'm looking for a light/medium gaming laptop, and the best one I've found so far is the L340 that was posted last week, which I really like, but I'm afraid a different 1650 laptop will be cheaper by black friday, or even a 1660 one, and as money is tight, I would like to optimize this decision.

Are there any better laptops for this price range, should I wait for black friday or should I just buy this one while it's $700?

u/Fachase · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Found this laptop which is a little over 700, similar specs as nitro 5 but it has 512 nvme ssd and doesn't have a gamer look.

u/trainedtech88 · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

With your budget this Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop would be a pretty good choice.

u/ASultrySloth · 1 pointr/ffxiv

My gf just got this a few days ago, 50-60 fps in all areas on Max setting as long as you keep it cool.

Check out the Lenovo Ideapad L340 81LK00HDUS it should be able to do what you need it to do. I have this laptop and it is serving me well. Its battery life is right about where you need it as I get 4-5 hours of use depending on the task. It will be able to handle solid works without lag. Its has a solid feel build wise and I am very happy with the laptop

Budget: $750

Country: USA - San Francisco

Screen size:15.6

Screenresolution: 1080

Touch screen: No

Weight: Doesn't matter

So I want something for gaming like: 1080 60Hz screen, 8 GB RAM (pref 16GB), 512 gb ssd(pref) or 1TB HD and a gtx 1050 to a gtx 1650(pref). Something like Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop would be ideal. Or Asus TUF FX505DT Gaming Laptop. Would like 16 GB Ram but it might be hard at that price range.

The thing is I'm not from USA and a friend is travelling to San Francisco on December, he'll buy the laptop from a local store. I need advice on which stores offer good deals, I know there's a bestbuy store close but would like a second option if there is one. Thanks!

u/BroheimIII · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

Lenovo L340 around $700 right now. Only 8GB RAM (but it can be upgraded) so easily upgradable if need be. Also an open drive bay so more storage is easily added too.

Edit:Only one SODIMM slot

Lenovo Ideapad L340

MSI GL63

It’s hard to find a laptop with a good dedicated graphics card that isn’t really flashy and “gaming” styled. I also don’t know how the 1650 compares to like a 1050ti or 1060 so I can only assume it’s mid-low tier

u/Naoki9955995577 · 1 pointr/GamingLaptops

Literally anything can run minecraft 😂. Anytime someone on the sub asks for a recommendation for minecraft I throw this out: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2885

Sims 4 is also super lightweight. If you wanna go cheap and entry level you can grab a 1050 or 1650 for the gpu. In fact you can get an AMD cpu and if it has Vega 8 integrated graphics you'll be set for the two tasks you asked. Anything higher will help the longevity of the laptop and make a better investment since you'll have a machine that is relevant for a bit longer.

So you can do what you want with $400ish and probably find some solutions even down $300 if you wanted to. The amd cpus you'll want for Vega 8+ integrated graphics are: 2500u, 2600h, 2700u, and 2800h (or 3000 series with the same scheme). Anything lower has Vega 3-6 and won't meet recommended specs for Sims (will for minimum tho). Here's some examples of machines you could shoot for:

R5 Vega 8 (my min recommended)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R8YTVQM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_naKIDbBJ7HSR0

R7 Vega 10 (slightly better but right next to the Vega 8)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DF9KKRD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RbKIDb8QJW60N

Intel i5 + 1650 (exceeds all requirements by almost triple and my recommendation)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VC55LF5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HcKIDbWA9J9XH

I'd recommend going for something with a dedicated gpu but you really don't need to spend the money on it if you guys don't want to because the objective isn't a very hard bar. Obviously it depends on how much modding and what your intentions are, but to meet recommend specs for the games, that's all you need.

There are tons out there, and this one might not be the best fit for you since I don't know your budget and what you want out of your laptop, but here's one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VC55LF5
