Camel says lowest. Maybe?

u/Fastknight45 · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

At the same price point ? Not really

Might have to move up a tier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798Q8KG4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_uVEvCb4G367BJ

The new LG one I forget what it's called. It's 34 inches IPS freesync and 144hz. They also claim it has HDR but it's pretty terrible in practice. If you can swallow the price tag go for it.

Edit: found it

u/palmerc309 · 3 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

This is a 3440x1440 144hz free sync but it is compaitable with gsync there's also a gsync one which is 120hz and both are nano ips panels. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798Q8KG4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_1E5jDbF165WG1
I have the Alienware AW3418DW and I love it but some days I wish I went with the 144hz LG monitor.

Price history on Amazon for the LG 34GK950F-B

They have gone down to $800 on sale on Amazon (when in stock) a few times in the last couple months so it could happen again when they get back in stock.

u/colon_blow · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Yes I have a 2080ti. IF I were set on 4k gaming, then yes I'd be purchasing this Acer that you just bought. Personally, I'm waiting on the 4k + high refresh rate jump until they at least have some 30+ inch variants. Might even be waiting on that until the price of ones with full array local dimming come down to under a thousand. I feel like 27 is a bit small for 4k res, but that's just my preference.

I have an LG 34GK950F, which can be had for about the same price point. Though, obviously it's an ultrawide so not really an option if you're set on 4k or a 16:9 aspect ratio. From a feature perspective, they're basically identical. 144hz, wide color gamut, good response times, useless HDR, and Freesync that works with nvidia cards (the Acer is "officially" g-sync compatible but I've had zero issues using adaptive sync with this monitor).

u/PersonaJXT · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

This one. Uses a better panel than the Alienware one (Alienware uses a previous gen LG panel). Basically considered the current best 34 inch monitor atm, beating out the Alienware.

The LG's come down to ~$800 before, which is the usual Alienware discounted price, so everyone is waiting for the LG to come down again. But at the Prime Day discounted Alienware price it's a hard decision again.

It was $1000 when I bought it (I think that's what is MSRP is), I don't know why it's so much more expensive now than when I bought it.

u/MyPCsuckswantnewone · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I changed it to 100hz, if he wants 144hz 1440p ultrawide, have fun paying $1400

u/NightHawk89 · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

I personally believe it is the best out there on the market for the price. They have it listed on amazon for $826, which is a good deal.

Recently Nvidia released drivers that support FreeSync for the two most recent GPU generations, Pascal and Turing. So any new Nvidia card that you are going to buy will support "adaptive sync". And - unless you scrape the bottom of the barrel for your monitor pricewise - even FreeSync monitors that are "uncertified" by Nvidia should work fine. Just make sure that your FreeSync monitor offers a feature called "Low Framerate Compensation" or "LFC".

In fact G-Sync only supports refresh rates up to 120 Hz, so faster panels, say 144 Hz, will always have to use FreeSync.

Example:

FreeSync variant: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950F-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B0798Q8KG4

G-Sync variant: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950G-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B07JVGLJ6R

The "G" variant does only 100 Hz (120 overclocked), while the "F" variant does 144Hz. Interestingly the "G" variant is even 5 bucks cheaper on amazon right now.

With either method of adaptive sync vsync is no longer needed and should be turned off, (if it doesn't turn off automatically already).

u/Beautiful_Ninja · 2 pointsr/nvidia

I'd disagree, for Ultrawides the LG34GK950F is the current king. 3440x1440 at144hz native refresh instead of 100hz, newer panel with better colors and calibrated from the factory, Freesync 2 that works perfectly with Nvidia GPU's and also gives you the option to use AMD GPU's in the future. The latest firmware update, which you can apply with LG's software, also fixes the one issue that monitor had, which was above average input lag, it's now top of the class there as well.

...it's also 1200 bucks. But that's the price to pay to get the king. This monitor is at least driving the price down on the previous generation ultrawides.

u/Roxamir · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

It's also on sale on Amazon, but it doesn't ship until the 12th of September. I went ahead and did this option because they had a 5-month payment plan and I do not urgently need the monitor.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798Q8KG4/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_dgayDbR23KVKB

Edit: FYI ordered from Amazon this morning and it was expected to deliver September 16th, but just got an update that it is now August 26th. Sweet.

> a 144 Hz 1440p ultrawide monitor

This is what i'm currently using and it's amazing.

u/Siphon007 · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

I'm a bit torn here, I probably could get away with just having a 2070 to run this, just not on Ultra High settings, but then again if you're going to spend $1500.00 on a monitor and you can't run games on Ultra it's sorta a waste right?

I'll probably be better off just getting https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0798Q8KG4?ref_=pe_1811570_136791410_E_Asin_Title in order to get full value out of my purchase, correct?

u/Ludacon · 1 pointr/simracing

34GK950F?

thats my current recomendation for 34"s overall, but its way above the $500 you said was the budget hahaha.

Not TB3, but a good option otherwise:

LG 34GK950F-B

u/Revelatily · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

:O Also a prime member - AFAIK i thought they only had spectacular return policies up to 30 days after purchase at which point they tell you to f off and deal with the manufacturers warranty in my experience.

Is this not the case for monitors?

https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950F-B-34-21-Ultragear/product-reviews/B0798Q8KG4/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_srt?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&sortBy=recent&pageNumber=1

seems to have a lot of domestic unhappy customers after the 30 day mark.

u/Jaghat · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

So I've been looking at the pieces and have come up with this list that I'm considering.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/QFpryX (Plus a monitor, clicked it off since I'm unsure which one I want, linked below)

There are three points where I'd like advice if you can.

  1. The Motherboard: I don't need Wifi or anything fancy, and was wondering if there were strong-but-cheaper alternatives for this setup.
  2. I still don't quite know which specific 2080 Ti I should pick (if not just the one you had previously linked, which is fine)
  3. For thre screen, I was considering ultrawide, like this for example, or this, or this. There is also the ultrawide you had linked as well, for slightly more expensive. Would those screens limit my gaming performance, or do they support high FPS as well, 144Hz?

Also wondering if I should do curved or if I should get a flat that can do 4K more easily or something

    Thanks
u/ItsJustSugarAndWater · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Shit this is good. I've been waiting for an ultrawide 1440p for a while.

Is 144Hz worth putting 300-400 more $$ or should I go for this one ?

edit: this is what I am currently looking at for BF https://www.amazon.ca/LG-34GK950F-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B0798Q8KG4/

In case you didn’t know that one was available, this is the FreeSync version, still too pricey though.

G-Sync = LG-34GK950G-B

FreeSync = LG-34GK950F-B

Odd that the G-Sync version is a couple hundred cheaper than the FreeSync version, which is “on sale” as well.

LG 34'' UltraGear 34GK950F

I'm currently on a 1TB 960 EVO NVME, but I'm upgrading to a 2TB 970 EVO Plus soon

Probably not looking to spend this much but just thought I'd throw this out there.

Would love to find out how this goes! I've been eyeing up the GSync version which has just had its price reduced, but I'd really prefer the extra 20hz + freesync if possible

u/Vatican87 · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

Get the freesync version btw that has 144hz, it's listed retail at $1k but it often goes on sale for $750-800, just wait for it.

This is the one I am saving for, unless something better comes out by the time I have the coin.

Also holy down-vote hell Batman!

For a big budget, I'd definitely recommend the Acer Predator which is on a great sale right now or if you're wanting an ultradwide monitor, go with the LG Ultragear .

u/____candied_yams____ · 1 pointr/hackintosh

i looked up your monitor and didn't realize you could do such high Hz at those resolutions (e.g. lg ultragear 120Hz @ 3440 x 1440). The 144Hz one you have is slightly lower resolution, yes?

u/SamSmitty · 1 pointr/classicwow

I got the 34" 2K 144hz Unltrawide from LG. It's worth it if it's in your budget. I would not recommend buying it if it takes you a year to pay off though, even if you do a 0% APR financing. Their hope is you miss one payment and owe all of the interest to them from the beginning.

True

I have a LG 34UC98 and I'd want another 34 Ultrawide but with 144Hz and Freesync. I think the only one out is the 34GK950F. I'm not in any rush. Maybe in 5 years when the tech is good enough to run 1440P UW at 144Hz. Might be interested in VR so thats why I was thinking XT.
