I bought 3 of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YJPC2A/ref=twister_B015EPRTBS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I love them as they fold easy and have a handle for easy storage/movement. They did cost $33 a piece when I bought them, though...

My friend got a similar product at Costco, but his don't fold in half, the legs just come up. Still nice if you have the space for storage.

Tell me your address I'll buy and ship you this table so you don't hurt yourself.

It's a little slide-y so I'd 100% recommend some kind of mat to put on top of it but it's solid enough for a few monitors.

I didn't... I think the mods did. So I'm going to sneak in and repost.

What are some of the staple gadgets and gizmos you have to maximize portability, versatility, durability, and price, time, and space efficiency?

Here's my list:

-Feiyue shoes. Crazy cheap, they take up no room, and they don't look out-of-place in most situations.

-Light My Fire titanium spork. This is the only eating utensil I ever use, and I take it everywhere.

-Pyrex 4-cup Bowl. As long as I'm just making food for me, this dish is the only one I need. It can withstand pretty much everything, and the microwave-friendly lid is awesome.

-Platypus roll-up water bottles. Carrying around an empty water bottle is really annoying. These guys hold lots of water, and only take up as much space as the volume of water they contain.

-Milk crates and heavy-duty Rubbermaid containers instead of furniture. The only thing you can really do with a chair is use it as a chair, and the only thing you can do with a chest of drawers is use it as a chest of drawers. Might as well combine the two -- and make them really light and portable to boot!

-Lifetime folding table. This is the closest thing I have to furniture.

-Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed. It's a twin mattress, or two separate twin mattresses, or a king-size bed, it's comfortable as poo, and it folds up to nothing.

-Night Ize Gear Ties. I've used these for everything from coathangers to patching the handle on a neighbor's lawnmower to attaching the basket to my bike.

-MicroNet Microfiber Towel. Linen actually takes up a surprising amount of room. This guy works great, and folds away to nothing.

-Wellspring FlipNote. I've had my FlipNote for 5 years and it's been in my pocket every single day -- whether I was in South Africa, military combat training, business meetings, or going out with friends. It's an idea journal, an address book, a wallet, a writing surface, a pen... all kinds of stuff, and it's super-slim and super-durable.

-Bug-out bag. This isn't quite the one I have -- mine was about $60 and came with a CamelBak and tube inside -- but it's the right idea. When I was discharged from the military, I fit my entire life in this amazing backpack with room left over for the full CamelBak and hiked up and down the California coast for several days with no problems. The same backpack's still the only piece of luggage I use for travel, for class, for everything. It expands from normal backpack size to HUGE.

TL;DR If I can't pack everything I own into my tiny car in one hour, I have too much stuff.

(Edit: This list isn't everything I own, but it's the things that I figure would be useful to anyone.)

For me, it's important to be able to stow the drafting table when it's not in use, so my setup is:

Folding table (found mine at Aldi for $25)

Risers to bring it up a little higher

On top I have this big board with a 1-inch-square grid that I can stick pins in and iron on. It's from my grandma, so I'm not sure what it's called or whether they're still sold. Before she gave it to me, I was thinking about buying something like this.

Enjoy your new sewing studio!

A few years ago I bought this table. It’s great because I can fold it away, but I LOVE the adjustable height.

I also use a very large — like 3 x 4 foot white board. I got it used from work. What I love about it is that the frame around it prevents puzzle pieces from ending up on the floor. It’s especially great when I have it set up on the kitchen table because I can pick the whole thing up and move it if I need to.

And the last thing I want to say is that I use heavy card stock for some of my sorting. Like... I see most of the pieces for a cluster of flowers or something. I slide the pieces onto the card stock and I can move around in case someone else needs a particular spot. And when I’ve put it together I just slide it off the paper and into the puzzle. It’s worked great for years!

/u/cia1120 I just ordered my 4ft table for Odd Mall :) It's not actually in stock right now, but they'll send it when it is. I thought $33 with Prime was a good deal. This is the same brand as my larger table that I like a lot.

This table was just the right height for me.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YJPC2A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's adjustable, too.

Note that I'm 4'10", so I use the 22" height setting and the next closest setting is 29" which is way overshooting your target I would presume. However, I can put my legs underneath it with my chair and it's a very comfortable height, now for adding something to prop up my laptop. (Some books, most likely, plus a new keyboard.)

u/ufgrow · 3 pointsr/microgrowery

Amazon link to the table

I found one locally at Home Depot for the same price. I also had some bed risers as well to give me another 4" of clearance, which tucks my storage bin (lights, nutes, etc) underneath the table as well! This frees up floor space in an already overcrowded environment. The top of my medium will be about 4 feet in height, and the top of the tent is almost 8 feet now. If needed, I'll grab a step ladder to mess with lighting changes and whatnot. I'm just excited to not be working on the floor anymore!

I'd love to know what other ideas you've had to elevate your grow, please share!

You can get a decent used couch at Salvation Army for $100 or less. Kitchen table and chairs are pretty easy to find for free on Craigslist or Freecycle, as long as you don’t need all the pieces to match.

For your bedroom, keep it simple. Mattress, dresser, desk, and desk chair are all you need. Don’t skimp out and buy an uncomfortable mattress. If you like a firm mattress and want to go cheap, get an egg crate foam mattress topper and some quilts and make a pallet on the floor. If you like a soft mattress, get one of those cheap memory foam ones from Big Lots.

Dressers are hard to find at thrift stores or for free. People hang on to them until they are falling apart. Look on Amazon for one made by Lang Furniture. It is decent quality and only $140. You can also hang up all you clothes and buy some baskets for your socks and underwear.

For a desk, I would go with a fold up camping table. If you buy one of those cheap desks in a box that you assemble, it is going to fall apart the first time you move it. The fold up table is $40 or so at Lowe’s, Walmart, Target, etc. It is lightweight and durable. Example from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YJPC2A/

For a desk chair, go to TOPS and get a used one for $50.

Also don’t go overboard on living room or kitchen stuff until you find out what your roommates have. Microwave, toaster oven, etc are good to have but you don’t need two of them.

They are pretty good that I bought 3 of em for various uses. Price has jumped a bit though as I paid $27 for them about 2 years ago. Just keep an eye on the fluctuating price.

Coleman stove and a headlamp. Linked some stuff below too. I also always bring a large bowl and get water from the water stations and fill it up and use that as a water basin to wash my hands.

or you can just DJ in the Jordan pose for the rest of your life.

ninja edit- this table isn't super sturdy side to side so if you're doing like crazy turtablism routines i'd sand bag it down

u/Zehkitty · 2 pointsr/reptiles

I use this $40 four foot long folding table for my 36” by 18” by 18” and it looks surprisingly decent. If you have another critter in a smaller tank you can easily put both on it without exceeding the weight limit, or there are probably smaller similar tables out there somewhere. The exoterra stands look nice... but they’re expensive.

u/ChipotleMayocide · 1 pointr/buildapc

I mean if you're really trying to go budget try this. My living situation is a little weird at the moment so this is what I use for now and I'm fine with it.

u/Mi_Revolution_DJ · 1 pointr/DJs

For mobile gigs I use a Lifetime 4428 folding utility table. They come in 4/6/8 foot lengths and have adjustable legs to make them counter height. Buy or make a nice table slip cover that reaches the floor or buy a facade and it'll look sharp and be mobile/versatile. I leave mine down relatively low and put my SKB R106 rack on it to raise laptop/lights/mixer up to 42" which is perfect for me at 5'10". Here's the amazon link:

I don't have a dedicated sewing room, so I am looking at this table - it would hold the 2x2 pressing boards I DIY'ed this year, and when I'm mid project we could still eat at the dining room table. This one in particular, because it is height adjustable and having a counter height cutting table is the dream! Lifetime 4428

I go back and forth on the Panasonic 360 iron - love the cordlessness, but if you have to have the base because there's to way to stand it on end, doesn't that undo the perk of being cordless?

I also go back and forth on the accuquilt -I would be excited to get one on super clearance, but don't think I am that excited to actually BUY one. I read on some forum about someone finding them at their local Joann on the clearance rack for something like $20, and so now I always check for them, just in case. :)

I got bobbinis last year, and really like them, and this year I put peels and tulips on my list.

u/tallbeerlover · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I just use this: https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428-Adjustable-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A

Good size, looks clean, and easy to transport for LANs.

u/MathTheUsername · 1 pointr/buildapc

99% of the desks on /r/battlestations are from ikea. If you have one near you, I'd recommend checking them out. The closest ikea to me is really far away and that's unfortunate since their shipping is like $300.

A lot of people seem to like putting countertops on legs and using that for a desk.

I'm also looking for a desk.

I am currently using 2 of these to make a shitty L-shaped desk.

u/rextos · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

thats a good idea, but tbh those drawers are about 75 bucks each and gets too expensive for me, i think im gonna go for this table - its a crappy plastic table, but it is height adjustable and its 48"x23" which i think is the ideal size for me - i think if i put a table cloth or bedsheet over it, and maybe some desk leg pads like these if it's not stable enough.

think that's a good idea?

u/zakabog · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Do you have a television? If so, buy the CyberPower and play in your living room until you get a desk and chair (or use a kitchen chair with a folding table from Amazon.) It'll last much longer than the laptop, provide room to grow, and it comes with a GPU equivalent to the GTX 1080.

u/VRegg · 1 pointr/EliteDangerous

The top of my armrest is about an inch above the table. I actually use a folding table like this https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428-Adjustable-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A/ Works really well as my regular desk has very little leg room.

I just endured 2 straight hours of brutal bounty hunting in VR and my arm is barely sore. It was worth it to get in the top 10% in the CG and get a 20 million CR bonus.

u/bashturd · 1 pointr/guildball

I have a few of these

https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428-Adjustable-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A/

Aldi actually had them on sale a few years ago for like 20 bucks a pop. I use them for infinity/guildball/40k, and my wife uses them when we have parties.

u/ladylovesbooks · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

We have two changing tables (1 up / 1 down), but it doesn’t feel like too much “extra” furniture because we bought this and have repurposed many times: https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428-Adjustable-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=4+folding+table&qid=1569164675&sprefix=4’+folding+&sr=8-6

Not cute, but fits the pad, diapers, trash container, wipes, etc, and it was easy to have it in our room when baby roomed in.

u/GenTronSeven · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

What you need is a "Resin Utility Table"; http://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-Adjustable-4428-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1393944962&sr=8-14
They are more expensive on Amazon than at the store (maybe due to weight?), but you can probably find one at a large department store ala Wal-Mart.
I know it sounds crazy, but it is much cheaper and more comfortable than any desk you could have. I cut a notch in mine so that my ergo-rest wouldn't fall off and it is amazing.

u/PlumpAF · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Desks are something I know absolutely nothing about

For reference I use one of those folding outdoor table like this just because it was cheap, and it has a lot of desk space. Obviously it's not for everyone

u/Ordinary_One · 1 pointr/buildapc

I use this for my laptop and printer, but I'll be building a PC soon and will put it on this. It's very sturdy. http://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428-Adjustable-Folding-Utility/dp/B003YJPC2A
