I replaced the bedside tv with an iPad mounted to the wall. You can lock it into Netflix so he can choose his own shows and feel a bit empowered. The screen is not huge but the remotes were confusing him. I made his list on Netflix his favorite shows so he can just touch the one he wants. I still have to help sometimes but it's not completely frustrating for him.

I got a freedom alert it's like a medic alert button but it first calls 4 programmed numbers before 911. I also purchased a few additional buttons as well. I put these buttons around the house in places he sits etc. he uses it to alert me that he needs something (a drink etc) or if he is confused. This allows me to do chores around the house without having to stop and check on him every few mins. I hear the system get a dial tone and begin dialing and generally am able to turn it off long before it ever makes a call.

I got him this pill dispenser back when he was able to concentrate well enough to dependably take his meds. I now give him his pills twice a day but the dispenser is still very helpful in ensuring I don't forget! It's very nice only having to get the bottles out every two weeks as well.

These help me to be a better caregiver by removing some of the stress. I also have the usual bed alarms etc.
