I see absolutely no reason to get this over the G502 Proteus Spectrum which goes on sale for ~$30-$35.

The main (and practically only) benefit to the HERO sensor is that it's very conservative with energy, so it's useful in the new wireless version of the G502 to extend battery life. It won't actually perform any better than the PixArt PMW3366DM sensor that logitech uses in the G502 Proteus Spectrum.

EDIT: For those who want this mouse anyways, it's 90 cents cheaper from Amazon and probably faster shipping.

Is the G502 Hero in budget? Check the reviews - that form factor from Logitech has been a favourite for ages. Or you specifically want wireless?

u/epainferno · 2 pointsr/apexlegends

I like my logitech g502. Has multiple buttons and extra weights to make it comfortable for you and you can usually find it at a good price. 54 on amazon right now.

Technically it can be purchased from Amazon although you may have duties to pay along with the US to CAD to conversion rates. If you go down to the US often I'm sure you can just find it on the shelves and skip duties.

EDIT: The Amazon page says that it will take a few months to ship. This article states that it releases next month.

Logitech - G502

  1. It's personal preference. Logitech software allows you to easily customize all buttons.

  2. That would be a noticeable difference for sure. While most people play cs:go at <=800DPI, some of us play with 1000+ DPI. Again, it's personal preference. Don't forget about your windows sensitivity as well. Most people play with that on 6.

  3. DPI can be switched on the fly. You can mess around and use whatever feels most comfortable for you.

  4. Linked for you

Well shit.

I'm not too well versed when it comes to PC's so I didn't second guess it.

The monitor that's there has pretty good reviews from what I saw, and the keyboard was actually the only part I added since I have the Logitech G502 to go along with it.

u/Cocktailprof · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

Monitor- AW2518 ( $303)

Keyboard- G910 ($100)

Mouse- G502 ($47)

I just bought these 3. They are awesome quality and less than $500.

Hope it helps!

u/StragoMagus70 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I actually ordered a Logitech G502 already. I heard good review about it, and found there's actually a subreddit dedicated to it as well. I'll have to get used to using a wired mouse again.

u/NoodleSaidSo · 1 pointr/apexuniversity

well the best mouse will be different for everybody but there are some really good deals on logitech mice right now, and logitech has always been a pretty solid company for gaming products. g402 hyperion fury is 63% off right now, i would suggest this one. you could also go for the g502 hero, which is 38% off, or its new color scheme companion, the g502 hero se, which is also at a big discount. however, because it's a new release and the deal is so good, there's high demand for the se version right now and may be difficult to get your hands on. i would suggest the g402 hyperion fury, because it's cheaper, lighter, more popular, and has 3 side buttons so you can bind them to your tac, ult, melee, or grenades.

Wow that looks really nice. What is the difference between the HERO and Regular versions? Trying to figure this out on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Spectrum-Shifting-Personalized-Programmable/dp/B07GBZ4Q68?th=1

Work: MX518 mouse, K840 keyboard, G240 mouse pad, G513's palm rest (not sold separately, but man I wish), H800 headset (not pictured)

Home: G502 HERO mouse, G910 keyboard, G440 mouse pad, G533 headset, G560 speakers

u/sk9592 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would probably go with a Logitech G502 or MX 518 mouse:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M6RVW79/

I would probably go with a keyboard with red mechanical switches. I don't think your budget will allow for Cherry brand switches though:

I like the g502 myself. It's got just enough buttons for me while being pretty comfortable. Supposedly it works on PS4 but I've never tried it myself. You can probably get the wired version for a discount price as they just released a new wireless version.

The only downside IMO is that, like most gaming mice, it's ugly as sin.

Everyone is saying the Logitech G502, and I could not agree more. I actually have 2 of them because I travel quite a bit for work. It has all the buttons you'll need right on the mouse to be an effective slayer of n00bs. It has a button which can select different DPI profiles which makes it easy to switch back-and-forth from Xbox to PC modes.

Keyboards can be subjective based on how you like your "finger feel" and noise level. For me, I cannot say enough good things about the Logitech G13 gaming pad (and holy balls I just realized how expensive it is, I don't think they make these anymore. Check on eBay for a cheaper price if interested). Buttons are right where they need to be, and it has nice ergonomic support for your wrist - it's designed for gaming comfort, not cranking out emails. The keys are not too clicky, but also have a nice feel to them. Also included; buttons to quickly switch between gaming profiles. Handy if you need different button keymaps for various different games.

My main keyboard, which I've also tested for gaming and cannot say enough good things about, is the Logitech G513. It has a sleek, minimalist design and comes with wrist support. The keys are a bit louder than the G13, but they are easier to press. It also has a surprisingly sturdy frame. The weight of it surprised me during the unboxing. It was oddly satisfying to hold in my hands which gave the impression that it was well engineered and of good quality.

As for the XIM, I've been a non-commissioned sales rep for it since the XIM 3 was released. These guys keep making better products, and the XIM Apex is no exception. The key (in my humble opinion) to giving it that PC feel is to find the right ballistics curve. I've found one that works very well with every game I've played. If you want more details on it, send me a private message and I'll give you the code that you can paste right into the XIM app on your phone. Another tip to making your experience even better on the XIM is to set the Hz to 1000 in the XIM app, and also set your mouse to 12000 dpi. Again, if you want more information on how to do that, just send me a message. I take great joy in helping people maximize their experience with the XIM.

Alright, here’s a balanced build that really takes all parts of the PC to account (performance, aesthetics, thermals, efficiency).

CPU/MOBO: https://www.microcenter.com/product/5003163/AMD_Ryzen_5_3600_with_Wraith_Spire_Cooler,_Gigabyte_X570_Aorus_Pro_WiFi,_CPU_-_Motherboard_Bundle

I’m seeing that people are suggesting B450 boards. While that is fine, I would like to point out that it would require a BIOS update and the BIOS update on MSI and other models have major problems. Plus, you are giving up on future PCIe 4.0 and OC features.
Also, the OP does not prioritize Multi-Core performance, so the Ryzen 5 3600 would definitely be a better value-for-money choice if 1080p Gaming is the main focus. The 3600, also, will deliver above average performance in moderate editing and workstation performance. This $420 bundle at MicroCenter will provide you with a mid-ranged X570 Motherboard as will as a capable CPU to minimize bottlenecks.

GPU: I really don’t know what to do here. I would definitely recommend 5700XTs for what you’re doing. However, all 3rd Party graphics card models are out of stock nearly everywhere. Definitely don’t purchase a blower card, as other models offer better base and boost clocks and thermals. I would personally wait for the MSI Mech OC, PowerColor Red Devil, or Sapphire Pulse to come. But if you want to build ASAP, I would consider this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/610784/Challenger_D_Radeon_RX_5700_XT_Overclocked_Dual-Fan_8GB_GDDR6_PCIe_40_Video_Card

RAM: https://www.microcenter.com/product/608780/Vengeance_RGB_Pro_16GB_2_x_8GB_DDR4-3600_PC4-28800_C18_Dual_Channel_Desktop_Memory_Kit_CMW16GX4M2Z3600_-_Black

16GB is pretty much recommend for many newer titles and workstation applications. But really, RAM frequency is important to Ryzen, and 3600MHz seem to be the “sweet spot” for 3rd-Gen Ryzen. Plus, I went with RGB RAM as they are relatively cheap currently.

SSD: https://www.microcenter.com/product/511204/660p_1TB_SSD_3D_NAND_QLC_M2_2280_PCIe_NVMe_30_x4_Internal_Solid_State_Drive

A lot of people will suggest this model for value-to-performance, and they aren’t wrong. In 1TB NVMe SSDs, the 660p holds a position near the top for value. It will provide you with relatively fast load and boot speeds. True, there are better SSDs out there, but you really don’t need more than this for gaming and browsing and even lighter workstation. Plus, 1TB of SSD Storage is more than enough for your most played games and the OS.

HDD: https://www.microcenter.com/product/415197/Blue_Mainstream_2TB_5400RPM_SATA_III_6Gb-s_35_Internal_Hard_Drive

Really not too much to explain here. This is just a good quality drive as your secondary storage for videos, pictures, documents, and other games that are less important to you (no one likes deleting games due to storage limitations in order to install new games).

PSU: https://www.microcenter.com/product/502044/650_Watt_80_Plus_Gold_ATX_Semi-Modular_Power_Supply

So this is a MicroCenter PowerSpec branded power supply. This is a 650W 80+ Gold rated unit and it should be enough to power everything. I would not recommend anything lower that this. 80+ Gold is pretty much the standard in $1,000+ values PCs. Definitely don’t get a generic PSU though, as those may kill the system in case of an error or capacitor failure.

The Case and Cooling will be better if bought online via Newegg.

AIO Cooler: https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-masterliquid-ml240l-rgb-liquid-cooling-system/p/2YM-0004-00015?item=2YM-0004-00015

This is kind of optional. This cooler will make the build look cooler (RGB) and provide better thermals and OC efficiency.

Extra Fan: https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-r4-120r-20pc-r1-case-fan/p/1YF-0010-000K6?item=9SIAE307ZN6975

This is also optional, you can replace this with the included rear case fan. It will match up with the RGB theme and provide slightly better thermals.

CASE: https://www.newegg.com/black-cooler-master-masterbox-td500-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811119343?item=N82E16811119343

The TD500 is a great case, and with decent value too. It has has decent airflow and thermals with 3 RGB fans included. It should also have decent space to build in.

So this is all I have to suggest for the PC itself. You will be looking at near $1400 pre-tax and rebates.

Monitor: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824475006

The MSI Optix is a great mid-range 1080p 144hz monitor. It has a curved screen design as well as a 1ms response time.

Mouse: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=g502&qid=1567685831&s=gateway&sr=8-

This is pretty much the standard of the HERO series from Logitech. The G502 has a 16,000 DPI range and a multi-button layout.

Keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Backlit-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B01CDYB8AG/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=logitech+mechanical+keyboard&qid=1567686080&s=gateway&sprefix=logitech+mechanical&sr=8-8

Again, this is the standard of Logitech mechanical keyboards. The G610 has Red Switches as well as a full keyboard layout. It should be pretty comfortable to play on.

So yeah, this is my suggested layout. It should run at around $1700-1750 total.

keyboard
Yes I know my keyboard is pretty cheap but I needed a quick replacement when my old one broke and it’s actually worked great for a while
new mouse
I just got this new mouse and it might be a little too expensive but it works great
