Smaller mice won't have the features or extra buttons you're looking for but maybe try the M305 or M505. I bought the latter for my laptop but I'm finding that it's killing my hand because I'm having to rest the base of my palm on the table. Judging by your post, you're looking for a smaller mouse and you might want to give one of these a shot (I got mine on sale for cheaper than it is on Amazon).
I'm curious about the G500: Can you rest the full weight of your hand on it? And was there anything wrong with your Razer Copperhead other than cosmetic wear?
