+1 for MX Master, provided you can get used to the slightly unusual form factor.

Depending on how many buttons you need, you could even run with something simpler like a Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse

u/tielknight · 9 pointsr/buildapcsales

Spend the extra $10 and get the M510 if your looking for a good wireless mouse.

u/GreenChileEnchiladas · 8 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I always go wired for mice, but this Logitech Wireless mouse is just fantastic.

Eitherway, Logitech all the way.

I have the Logitech Proteus G502 and it's equally great.

Logitech M510

I bought this 4 years ago and it's served me well. Shows no signs of aging. Batteries last about 6 months. Probably longer I just lose track.

u/amadnesstothemethod · 6 pointsr/battlestations

I decided it was time to get my home office in order. The desk needed to be big enough to accommodate my day-job laptop as well as my laptop that I use for my photography business. It also had to be small enough to fit in my master bedroom.

Inspired by the minimalist setup by /u/hazzid (https://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations/comments/4iyjjw/new_house_new_setup_let_me_know_what_you_think_my/), I got to work.

I use a K800 and M510. Logitech is the only way to go.

u/rsoxguy12 · 3 pointsr/RPI

Agreed. Got this bad boy when it was on sale at Best Buy for about 20 bucks (it used to cost $40). Been using it for 3 years without a problem.

u/jacobchapman · 3 pointsr/macgaming

Get a mousepad. Doesn't have to be fancy, just something that the laser can't reflect off of. I'm using a wireless Logitech M510 on a 2009 MBP and I know the "shakiness" you're talking about. I think the main problem is the laser bouncing off of your desk surface, especially if it's wood or anything glossy like that.

Really though, try it with a mousepad. You can go cheap. I prefer one's with cute pictures on them.

Yes, that is my mousepad.

Edit: UCRsSon suggested changing the batteries, which can help if they are close to dying. I've noticed significantly better performance with fresh batteries over drained ones.

My mouse uses a Logitech Unifying receiver.

Definitely not an expensive mouse.

This is the mouse I have, got it mostly because I wanted a bigger mouse. It's comfortable to use and fairly cheap.

I used the Logitech M510 for a couple years, it performed very well for its price and the battery lasts forever. Solid, nice shape to it. Looking at it now, it's #1 in computer mice on Amazon.

$25, can't recommend more.

u/gibb · 2 pointsr/engineering

I really love my Logitech m510 wireless. Mouse has two thumb buttons & wheel has center & tilt buttons and - I use SolidWorks and Excel most of the time I'm on my computer with X-Mouse Button Control (free) I get some very intuitive shortcuts specified for whichever program I'm currently in (SW-normal to & isometric on the thumbs, rotate 90 on the tilt buttons; Excel-tab shit forward/back on the thumbs, page left/right on the wheel tilts). If you watch amazon (via camelcamelcamel) you can get it for $16 (currently $20 in black), but full price is $40. I also appreciate that the receiver is really tiny and doesn't get in the way when you throw your laptop in your bag (storage compartment in the battery compartment if you want to totally remove it without losing it), but my real hesitation was battery life which turned out to be amazing (13+ months of daily use thus far and I either haven't changed them at all or once, I honestly don't remember doing it, but I might have forgotten). Lastly, I had tried smaller travel mouses, but I'd much rather carry a slightly larger wireless without needing extra batteries (2xAA) or a charging cable and the ergonomics make my hand happy, so there's that.

u/kstap · 2 pointsr/TerrariumTV

That's just the mouse I'm using, I got it 5 years ago for $40 or something. It might not be made anymore and the price is kind of erroneous. This mouse would work just fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003NR57BY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480414426&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=logitech+wireless+mouse&dpPl=1&dpID=41%2BcyeIQuSL&ref=plSrch

The mouse is essential for use with side loaded apps that are not meant for android TV (they are regular Android phone apps). These apps are meant for a touch screen, which the mouse mimics perfectly. Without a mouse you cannot navigate the apps at all on Android TV. You can use the mouse for the entire Android TV system, except text entry needs to be done with the remote or a keyboard.

I mostly use the remote, I only really use the mouse for a few side loaded apps - chrome, terrarium, VPN client, etc

u/Dubesta11 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

For what purpose? Any logitech mouse will last more than 5 years, with the battery needing replacement about once a year. This is a very good wireless mouse for general use: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003NR57BY?cache=ae64d26250b9de3fbb18b5b885fd87fe&pi=SX200_QL40&qid=1404447945&sr=8-1#ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1

u/Trix_54 · 2 pointsr/technology

Am I the only one with a mouse with buttons where your thumb would rest that allows you to go 'back' and 'forward' on a page? It just seems a waste of 2 good seconds to let go of the mouse to hit backspace or reach over with your left (if you have the mouse on the right) to hit back space.

u/ProdigyRunt · 2 pointsr/CrazyIdeas

Thing is, there are some good mice out there that don't require replacing batteries so often that it's an issue.

In fact I've been using this mouse since last July and haven't changed the batteries even once (so far).

u/rockker60 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Amazon says it 2" X 1" X 1" - that's small. I have had great luck with Logitech wireless - was using an M510, now on a Logitech m602 gaming mouse, not quite as comfortable as the M510, but both are bigger mice than the Kensington you linked. I have big hands and M510 probably better if you don't want a gaming mouse.

u/Skorezore · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Logitech m510's. Because they're cheap, and they get the job done. While Over 9000 DPI is great, I don't play at my local IMAX theater.

u/DublinBen · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I really like the looks of the Logitech M510.

You could also consider the Logitech performance MX. It's the big brother of my beloved VX revolution. It's nice and big, shouldn't feel cheap, will last a long time on the rechargeable batteries, and has just the right amount of buttons. You'll wonder how you ever lived without the super handy back/forward buttons for your thumb.

u/nxnja · 2 pointsr/hardware

Yeah those reviews sounded kind of bad, and there seemed to be a lot of them. This one looks good for under $40, plus it has laser tracking.

This is the only Logitech wireless mouse I've ever owned, and that one worked great. The main reason I got it was for the rechargeable battery, but it's double your price point and doesn't look much different from the first one I linked.

This is what I use when I'm using my laptop. It's a great mouse, cheap, has 2 buttons on it, and it such a nice size. If you've ever used one of Logitech's dedicated gaming mouses, this is about the same size. It fits well in hands and is such a good choice for the price!

u/SkaveRat · 2 pointsr/tippit

Actually, anything by logitec. But I love my M510 mouse

u/Chainmail_Danno · 2 pointsr/arma

Here is my custom key setup. This pretty much relies on having a mouse with at lease two extra buttons. I use the Logitec M510. It's a cheap mouse but well built. Here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001822-M510-Wireless-Mouse/dp/B003NR57BY

The first thing you need to do is unbind "G" for grenade. My G does nothing at this point for one reason-- I accidentally hit it too often when switching fire modes. There is nothing worse than being in a fire fight and tossing a grenade at your feet. I bind grenade to "H" because it's still close enough to be quickly accessible.

Alright, let's get started on the rest.

Most of my keys are set to ARMA 2 style.

Shift- hold to walk. Double tap to toggle walk. Unbind w+s for toggle walk.

Unbind crtl+left click to change optics. "/" works just fine. This allows you to hold down crtl, aim, and change stances much more fluidly.

Mouse button back- change view (3rd or 1st person)

Mouse button forward- sprint.

crtl+g- switch grenades types. This is to ensure I don't accidentally depress crtl and throw a grenade, and that my finger doesn't slip off F and change the grenade type.

Unbind everything that uses space. You can use this button for either TS PTT or Side Chat.

u/CrazyRuskii · 2 pointsr/elderscrollsonline

This guy knows what's going on. I use the Logitech M510 for simplicity.
WASD to move, center wheel button for skill 1, skill 2 and 3 are default keys, the side forward/back keys on the mouse for skill 4 and 5, and V for weapon swapping. Works out really well for me.

To the build: It has a good cpu, enough ram, HDD and SSD., I added a proper display and Windows 10, the case looks nice and has some blue accents. I'm not sure about the gpu: It is possible she will need a stronger one, but that does not fit into the budget. Something to keep in mind and maybe upgrade later.

Where are you buying them from? The Logitech M510 is currently tied for it's lowest price ever at 14.24. I checked every other major retailer and they all either didn't have it in stock, or had it for $20. eBay has refurbished models for $13.00 though.

The Logitech M545 is currently the lowest price it's been on Amazon by $1.82. It's selling for $32 from Newegg, $28 at Walmart, $30 at eBay

Here's my recommended build for you

But seriously though, even Commando and Witchblade should use at least three buttons (cadence + debuff + heal). A cheap mouse gives you 5 buttons to press.

> Logitech M510 wireless mouse that used to be flawless

The Logitech M510 is a cheap desk mouse, which was never meant to last more than a year of use.

If you really like it, I suggest a replacement - $19 amazon

But before buying,,, check interference with the Dongle. Even a monitor in the way could cause disruption. Try a different dongle. Turn off all other 2.4Ghz & bluetooth devices. Clean the lense.

I have to agree the wireless mice are great, especially with the extra weight in them. I use the [Logitech M510] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001822-M510-Wireless-Mouse/dp/B003NR57BY)

u/ray-lee · 1 pointr/MouseReview

i have one of these Performance MX mice and the switches inside are failing. i've had it less than 2 years. drag and drop is a nightmare. it drops off randomly.

you don't say your budget or what the combo thing was so you'll need to use a receiver with your new mouse thus using a USB port (unless your old combo was a logitech that uses unifying receiver).

so, if you want a new combo, the Logitech mk710 set is quite good. Not sure what you feel about keyboards but I find this one a bit soft for me.
smaller budget? MK320/330.

if you only want a mouse, get a laser one. it'll track on anything, better than optical.
And i've found the cheaper mice from Logitech work flawlessly for years. something like a 510 would work.

u/Yowomboo · 1 pointr/MouseReview

I held a logitech m 510 yesterday and it felt super comfortable. Can't speak about the sensor though. It's a wireless mouse though so it might not be best, I have an older m 510 and it's held up pretty nicely.

All you really need is for the left mouse button to be under her thumb instead. That would feel pretty natural. Take any mouse with buttons by the thumb like this and either use it's own software to remap the buttons, or I'm fairly sure you could use auto-hotkey to remap it.

Or, if you want to be really fancy, it wouldn't be that hard to take apart a conventional mouse and reassemble it into a 3d printed case made to put the main buttons under the thumb and middle finger. Maybe someone in one of the 3d printing subs, or a local makerworks type shop would take it as a novelty project. Or you could probably pay someone on fiverr to model it and a service like shapeways to print it.

u/XeraanTruss · 1 pointr/microsoft

If gaming is important, then no this mouse isn't right for you.

However with a lot of gaming mice you'll be looking at a higher price.

For instance I use the Logitech G900. Shit costs $149, but I wanted a Wireless Gaming mouse that worked for claw-grip and I sure got it!

A mouse is going to be one of your most-used peripherals. Don't be afraid to put out a bit more money for it.

If you're not familiar with this mouse, I suggest you to go to the store and try it, I did and hated it. Because its hollow, you don't get thumb rest and holding this mouse is akward, form over function.

Check out Logitech M510, it has everything you want and some more, gotta love 4 programmable buttons! I don't have this particular mouse, but you can't go wrong with Logitech.

Quick tip: use mouse gestures for web browsing (right click + left to go back), so you can utilize programmable buttons more effectively, I have Enter and Delete set up for mine and its been great calorie saver.

My experience with the Magic Mouse is that if you have big hands, they might start hurting depending on your computer usage.

u/kdubbs · 1 pointr/buildapc

The Logitech M510 is the updated version of the mouse I've had for 2 years now, and I think it's the most perfect mouse I could ever ask for. I use it for Starcraft 2 and League of Legends and it performs spectacularly. The only problem I've ever run into is sometimes if it's plugged into my USB 4 port hub, it will skip around a bit, but if it's plugged directly into my macbook pro, it is flawless.

Well, this is one I use with my laptop, and this is the one I use on my desktop.

The former is smaller, and it has the smooth scroll/click scroll toggle on the wheel, so if you're used to middle-clicking the wheel that might not work for you. I think you can program the button under the wheel for middle click though.

The second larger one is really my main mouse. I like it. The buttons are very "clicky" though, requires a solid press, so that may or may not be good for you if you do any gaming. Doesn't bother me but I'm used to it. The wheel on it kind of rocks left to right for horizontal scrolling. I think Apple must have patented certain smooth scrolling wheels because you can't really find a smoothly horizontal scrolling 3rd party mouse (that I'm aware of). So again, takes a little getting used to but it works fine and you can adjust sensitivity/acceleration (on an app by app basis if you like).

Those are the only two I've owned. Literally have fallen on hardwood floors multiple times and they haven't broken in a couple years so I just haven't tried any other ones.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I think the problem is that the M317 is meant for a claw grip. If that's the case, then most mice are meant for a palm grip and will fit your needs. However, make sure to check the weight and dimensions. Here's an example that is relatively similar to the M317 (wireless, ambidextrous, Logitech), but not necessarily the right choice for you.

u/Rancid_Bear_Meat · 0 pointsr/trees

Wait, you move your mouse around on a foam pad for 'easy tracking'? But, but.. it has a laser! ..you're using a pad because ur mouse is faulty??

Wow, this kind of needless suffering makes me slightly sad.. they are so cheap and precise without having to struggle.

Here friend, Logitech makes quality mice..

Here's a wireless one for $25
