Awesome. It get's addictive. I need to get some gourds and I should have 3 or 4 new ones by the spring.
If you need it, there is good Caxixi info in this book (Amazon Link)... It also has instructions for making berimbaus, and a whole host of other cool instruments.
For vergas, I'd recommend hunting in the woods, where saplings grow tall and straight, reaching for the light.
I've had good luck with coppiced hardwood for baquetas. I tried growing some gourds this year, but failed!
