As an ankle exercise? I'm confused haha. You can probably do rowing machine whenever you're ready to do elliptical/bike. Ankle exercise would be like circles/drawing alphabet with your foot and then doing balance exercises. When you start to feel like you can maybe run, you can try using a brace like this. A bit pricey but I think it's the best one out there. Ultimately the goal is to keep working on your ankle until it's strong enough to go without though.

Messed my ankle up last year and now I wear this ankle brace to help stabilize my ankle. I honestly forget about it once I start skating (cruising, downhill or freeride). I'm not sure what kind of wrap you'd need specifically, but I do recommend finding one that well help you skate better and reduce the chance of getting hurt again.

This was recommended to me after returning from an ankle break (in 3 spots). It’s been awesome and no need for a new boot. Can also attest that strength and flexibility and rehab exercises are more reassuring than a few more inches of boot.

I wore this after injuring my ankle and healing. I went out with it for awhile until I felt comfortable without it again.

That ankle brace looks very similar to the one I'm considering. I do ankle exercises at home and do shorter hikes, but I can't trust my ankle to hold up to a longer hike. I'd rather start wearing a brace for longer hikes until I am very confident that my ankle is strong enough to do it on its own.

Did your brace cause any other issues like blisters?

I'd personally recommend the ASO cast. It fits into any shoe and is very adjustable in terms of support.

Never tried it but they seem a bit low around the ankle. If I were you I'd pair it up with some sort of ankle stabilizer
