I know it seems extravagant and expensive but this seemed to provide a really comfortable sleeping setup where our baby could move freely yet not get cold due to kicking off blankets. Also, extremely safe from suffocation risks due to this thing not being a loose blanket that could end up covering their face in the middle of the night.
The merino wool helps a lot with temperature regulation. Not too hot, not too cold. The wool is sandwiched by soft cotton jersey (like tshirt material) on the outside and inside, so there's no itchy wool-on-skin contact.
