This is the cheapest transmitter I can find (most seem to be bluetooth receivers only)

But yeah, speakers really aren't that expensive and you'd probably be better off getting usable speakers as opposed to this. Even if it's not a high-end table it'll still sound better with $50 wired speakers than through a $50 bluetooth transmitter. There's also no telling if this thing will still be functioning by the end of the month

For reference - I use these speakers and while they aren't fantastic by any means, I think they'd be the better (and cheaper) option

Curious if anyone has attempted to connect the Amazon Echo to their home audio receiver yet?

I like to listen to the TV while I cook but I'd rather not run speaker wire all the way to my kitchen from my living room, and the Echo is already sitting on top of my fridge...

It seems to me that a cheap bluetooth transmitter hooked into my "ZONE 2" speaker setting should be able to send the signal...my question is if the Echo can connect to it. If anyone has actually DONE THIS, which transmitter would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I bought a bluetooth receiver and it works great. This would be a good option http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-Home-RTX-Bluetooth-Transmitter/dp/B00713RSE0/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_1

There are tons of these dongles, they all pretty much sound the same.

The thing to look for is Bluetooth 3.0 or 4.0 support and AptX support on the dongle. I've got this, works fine:

This might have better range, but I haven't tried it yet:

This is the dongle you are looking for. (Amazon refferal link)

Some other Bluetooth transmitters were not able to be used while charging, no idea why, but this one can be used while charging. I assumed it would be stationary and always plugged in because of the RCA input request, though it does have a battery and is portable.

If you are going to be more than 30 feet from the transmitter you should probably get this one instead.

If your headphones support aptX you may want to continue your search because these don't support aptX; aptX is a higher quality codec for streaming audio over bluetooth, but it's not widely supported yet. I saw a dongle from Avantree that supported aptX, but it had issues with dropping transmission at low volumes, so I wouldn't recommend it.

EDIT: I just saw your username; check out the last product picture, that dongle really is for you.

It's a bluetooth transmitter/receiver. It actually doesn't have anything to do with the turntable, all our AV equipment is inside that cabinet except my Amazon Echo, which is more centrally located in the kitchen on a shelf above the fridge. I have this bluetooth receiver plugged into my AV receiver and another plugged into the Echo (which has bluetooth built in but for some reason couldn't get it to connect to this receiver).

Simply put it hooks my Echo to the sound system in the kitchen and living room, so I can just talk to it wherever I am.

If you want cheap, and don't mind several weeks shipping time... this is a good option from Dealextreme. The sound is a wee bit grainer than the more expensive name brand bluetooth receivers, but it's certainly passable.

If you want to spend more money, I've found these two products to be superior receivers:

  • Miccus Receiver/Transmitter. This plugs into a usb power supply and connects to your home stereo line-in port. I use this with my Ipad all the time. It's great to have the rich sound coming out of my speakers, rather than the tinny sound from the Ipad, itself.

  • The Sony Ericsson Bluetooth receiver. This offers clear crisp sound, and it's very suave. You can have three devices paired at once, and it has a nice mini readout screen on it.

Sorry about the vague question. I would use a product similar to this: Miccus Home RTX: Long Range, Bluetooth Music Transmitter or Receiver (A2DP) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00713RSE0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_oyvLwbGPNRFKT

And have it paired to a Bluetooth speaker such as this: VAVA Voom Powerful Bluetooth Speaker https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016W4RK1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_BDvLwbYSVNS1J

I was just curious as to the pairing process since I usually do "pairing off of my phone and I have to enter a password or code

It will depend on how exactly you want it set up and what components you already have but you'll need a bluetooth transmitter for the TT and a bluetooth receiver for your reciever/speakers. I think you may need to run the source from your TT through a pre-amp before the bluetooth transmitter. Here are two options for transmitters depending on if you'll be using a 3.5mm jack or RCA cables from TT/pre-amp to speakers.

Sorry for the late reply. As for now I haven't heard anything about making a BT-Pro in reverse yet, but I'll run the idea past our president, Peter. Unfortunately, even if we did make them it would not be available anytime soon :(

I'm not sure what the audio quality is for this, but perhaps you could use something like that in combination with your protools iPad app?

Thanks for the question though, it is a good product idea!

You want something like this.

The catch: Bluetooth = digital. It sort of negates the purpose of doing vinyl in the first place.
