These are some of my holy grail skincare products!

Night time:

  1. Cleanse with cerave cleanser
  2. I typically do Melano CC or BHA/AHA every few days or so. AHA/BHA are chemical exfoliators and Melano CC is vitamin C that helps renew your skin. These are both applied right after cleansing the skin, you have to wait 20-25 minutes after applying BHA/AHA (10 minutes for the vit CC) before you apply other stuff.
** these products dry out your skin so I put on many layers of moisture after, and also don't do them everyday. AHA (and BHA too, I believe) makes your skin more sensitive to the sun so I also wear SPF 50 everyday underneath my makeup.
  3. then the Missha FTE mist
  4. the snail mucin gel
  5. scinic honey thing

    day time:
  6. either missha fte or snail mucin gel
  7. shirojyun toner
  8. shirojyun lotion (just cuz I have it, probably wouldn't repurchase although I do really like it!)
  9. sunscreen

    hope this helps! :)

If you are not sensitive to fatty alcohols like cetyl or stearyl alcohol, try CeraVe in the tub. Your Dr. Jart cream has fatty alcohols, could that be the culprit? Also, if you like Belif then you should consider switching to the True Cream Moisturizing Bomb instead of the Aqua Bomb. I have dry skin for most of the year and use the Moisturizing Bomb from fall to spring both morning and night and it has been great. Something that has also helped my flaky skin is making sure that my face is damp when applying hyaluronic acid and other moisturizers. I like to use essences like Missha First Treatment Mist or Secret Key. Or, just buy a nice spray bottle and fill it with distilled water.

If you still find that your skin is not getting better, then your moisture barrier may be damaged. I am not a doctor but if you're experiencing redness, flakiness, peeling, sensitivity, stinging when you apply products, and or tightness in your skin then you will need to treat that. First you will want to pair your entire routine down. Check out the SCA post on healing the moisture barrier. From your routine, the first irritating product you might try replacing is your Ole Henriksen face the truth gel cleanser. Try a creamier or jelly cleanser (not gel though.) Check out thesidebar for product recommendations, I personally use CeraVe Hydrating cleanser, but again it does contain fatty alcohols so YMMV.

Hi! If I buy the Missha First Treatment Essence Mist, would that still be the same as the original formulation? I've wanted to try this but I've been reading about how the new Intensive version took out a lot of ingredients. Thanks for your help!
