This is the stand I am currently using, It works great for me and the center mast is hollow with holes in it to run cables through so cable management is pretty easy.

u/timmah1991 · 9 pointsr/battlestations

For those interested, I bought two of these and borrowed one shelf from each box to make the middle section. For the actual 'desktop' I used a 1/8" fiber board cut to size. The monitors are held in place by this, which is actually mounted upside down from the top shelf. The desk idea originally came from /u/gconsier

I use two 34” ultrawides sode by side using this arm:

Mount-It! MI-753 Triple Screen LCD Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Arm for 19, 20, 22, 23, 24 Inch Monitors VESA 75 and 100 Compatible Full Motion, Tilt, Swivel, Rotate, 66 lbs Capacity, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDT072S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rvs5AbSXV594K

It’s really sturdy - I bought the 3-monitor mount and removed the middle arm (I was scared the dual arm wouldn’t be wide enough for the two ultrawides). I’ve been thinking about stacking them which I think this arm can do easily - each arm can move around very freely

u/That_Baker_Guy · 4 pointsr/buildapc

I'm looking for a triple monitor stand on amazon. I found one for about $55 does anybody else have recommendations? I have 2 24" monitors and a 22". I might even just get a dual stand and just leave the 22" off to the side.

http://www.amazon.com/Mount-It-Articulating-Computer-Monitors-MI-753/dp/B00BDT072S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1407242596&sr=8-3&keywords=triple+monitor+stand

u/moerisss · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have three of these for eyefinity. This monitor is a solid choice for the price.

The stands are awful, but I picked up a triple mount (http://amzn.com/B00BDT072S) for $70 and now they're perfect.

The buttons on the back haven't been an issue for me; the only button I really use is the power button. Also, access to the buttons isn't really an issue since I mounted them.

Here is a picture of them after mounting: http://imgur.com/7fdnYp4

u/GrammarFailure · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have 3 of these monitors on this triple monitor mount. AMA or whatever

u/ByyChase · 3 pointsr/buildmeapc

Razer Blade: I give a thumbs up. Have seen people saying some pretty good things about it. The screen thing though... To my knowledge that isn't really a thing... that I know of at least. Maybe the people over at r/SuggestALaptop might be able to help you out with that. My suggestion to you would be to use like a docking station that is one cable to your laptop (USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C w/ Thunderbolt) and have that run three monitors on a monitor arm like this (remember the monitors would need to have vesa mounting capabilities to do this) and roll with a setup like that for home use and just use one screen while you are on the go. Hope that helps a little and feel free to ask questions.

u/dubstepping · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I have had this for a little over a year and I have loved it. It lets me move them with easy and running the cables through the main tube part means I can have great cable management.

u/Matthew91188 · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

I actually just bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BDT072S/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474254241&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=monitor+triple+arm+desk+mount&dpPl=1&dpID=41i6t%2BGOV3L&ref=plSrch

It's a triple monitor mount but you don't have to use the middle one (removable) this allows the outside arms to be long enough to hold both. I currently have a 27" and 34" on it just fine. I can snap a pic tomorrow if you'd like.

u/AR-47 · 2 pointsr/simracing

I used to have a setup like that and honestly the only thing I can recommend is buying a triple monitor stand like this and having the monitors hang off the end of the desk, over your wheel. Then when you're done, unbolt the thing and move it to the other end of your desk. Getting it set up and taken down is a pain in the ass, but worth it if you race a lot.

u/joeythehamster · 2 pointsr/battlestations

This One
I bought it for $40
Would I recommend it, yeah..
But if you can spend more I would go with another mount.

you cant see it in the picture but the outside monitors are not level. they actually angle down and there is about an inch difference in between the inside and outside height of them.

Still a good buy though for $40 or around that price.

u/The_Roptor · 2 pointsr/halo

I recommend looking on Amazon.com at brands like Vivo, Mount-It, and AmazonBasics for good mounts for reasonable prices.

If a single triple monitor mount is not enough to properly fit all of the monitors you could get 3 singles. Make sure all of your screens have VESA mounting holes. If they have different VESA mount sizes you can get size adaptors.

Triple monitor mount 1: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDT072S/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_VD5OCbJX1ZC75

Triple monitor mount 2 (more flexible): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9D7JWP/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_uD5OCbF76S6YM

Single monitor mount (X3): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_xE5OCbW8QX4H4

Once you go VESA mounted you never go back, so worth it man. I have my TV mounted on a VESA arm for playing Halo/Xbox, and my work desk has double monitor setup is VESA mounted too and it's worth the cleaness and space saving.

u/AXISMGT · 2 pointsr/macsetups

Looks great! May I recommend a monitor mount for your desk, it should get you some prime real estate back.

They have versions for larger monitors as well if that's the case.

u/sk9592 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Would a triple monitor mount help your space issues at all? If would work if the issue is that your desk is not wide enough:

u/TheEpicCanadian · 2 pointsr/battlestations

The monitors are all ASUS VS238H-P's. The monitor stand is a Mount It Triple Monitor Stand It isn't very good for landscape because the side monitors droop about an inch with a heavy monitor but it works great for portrait. The desk is a Ikea Desk, the Linnmon. It's can be really sturdy or fairly flimsy depending on how you put it together.

u/DaRealHankHill · 2 pointsr/iRacing

Right now I have a rig that has a wheel stand, pedals platform, and seat, but no monitor mount. I have my rig on wheels that I can slide right up to my desk(I play non racing games and work so I don’t use my racing seat for that). My desk is rectangle but I made the front edge curved so I can slide my rig closer to the middle monitor, as they use the attached stand that sits on a desk.

Once I get a better desk, I’m going to get a triple monitor mount though, like this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDT072S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_

If you get a rig with mounts just make sure the monitor stand part has adjustability to come closer/farther from you without moving your distance to your wheel. A lot are locked to a fixed distance from the wheel, and all you can do is keep moving your seat closer to the wheel(and screens) but you can only get so close to the wheel before that doesn’t work anymore.

u/WorkPlayDrive · 1 pointr/ikeahacks

I like the design, one suggestions why not switch over to the OLOV Leg just in case your floor or carpet is not level. I've had great luck with 6 of these legs making my desk rock solid.

Also I had used a similar shelf design to support my monitors but eventually went to a pole mount setup, The shelf limited the height of the items I could put under it and I really like having the open space

Double mount

Triple mount
These are VERY strong and inexpensive as well.

And then I already had a single monitor wall mount, so I used that for the top monitor.

u/cigarsquid · 1 pointr/pcgaming

u/OMGitsDSypl · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'm gonna triple mount 3 Asus VG248QE monitors (24" screen, each 22.5"wide), and I'm unsure about what mounts I should use. I was eyeing this triple monitor mount, but I don't know if it will perfectly fit my monitors or allow me to curve them inward enough. This is a big deal for me since I want to have three monitors and my tower (9" wide) on my desk (72"), and curving the outer two monitors will make everything fit with ease. That being said, I was also thinking about getting 3 of these single monitor mounts which seem to be cheaper. The only cons I can think of with this is that initial set up will be a drag and the cable management will be less appealing. I assume this method would allow for more freedom with a single monitor, so I'll be able to save more space on my desk and rotate monitors with ease. I'm sorta leaning towards the latter option, but I could really use a second opinion- Should I get the 3x mount or 3 1x mounts? Is there a recommended alternative anyone can vouch for that won't kill my wallet?

u/christianbed · 1 pointr/DIY

Amazing job! I really like the mounts. However, I can get this one for less than $60. It would take me months to build one.

Are you in metalwork, or is this just a hobby?

Also, how do you convince your wife to let you buy tons of tools?

u/renwei · 1 pointr/battlestations

Nice setup!

This appears to be the monitor stand that was bought - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BDT072S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - I also have this stand.

In your experience, have you had any issues with the stand not aligning your monitors equally so that they are level with one another? With my setup, the two outer monitors hang a little bit lower (about half an inch) then the center monitor. If this is an issue that you have dealt with, how did you over come it?

u/djtdwpslays · 1 pointr/gamingpc

Here it is.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BDT072S/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

~$60, while people complain that it doesn't hold 27" monitors, it fits these 23.6" + frame monitors just fine.

Its extremely well built, very heavy, and no issues with it not holding a position yet.

u/XmackattackX · 1 pointr/buildapc

Very nice! Now all you need is 2 more for surround! And this helps a lot! :)

u/charliearthur1911 · 1 pointr/battlestations

I agree 100%. I grabbed a Mount-It! triple monitor mount from Amazon and it was the best move I made.

u/Grant500 · 1 pointr/battlestations

I might be able to adjust middle one down, but I haven't looked into it yet. Thanks for the kind words though! I love the triple set up.

u/TristanwithaT · 1 pointr/battlestations

I know the Dell Ultrasharps do, or you could also buy a mount with monitor arms. Something like this

u/C0nflux · 1 pointr/howto

Having tried to build one of these myself, I would strongly advise looking for an inexpensive model on a site like Monoprice or similar. Trying to get the hinges/arms to not sag under the weight of large monitors is extremely difficult and you will likely end up wasting a lot of money and effort.

EDIT:

I own the two-arm version of this and have been very happy with it.

There are a few monitor mounts on Amazon that may help. I currently use a dual mount, next to my iMac and they move/rotate/tilt in several angles. Something such as this is what I have, although I only use the Dual Monitors.

Thats the one I have. I have 3 23" acer monitors on it and it works great.

The setup and adjustments are a bit of a pain, but it was way cheaper than any other option i could find.

If I'm on a budget again when I buy another, I wont hesitate to purchase again. If I have more $$ to spend, I might look elsewhere.

u/Novxz · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

Do you have any experience with the Gerton when it comes to desk-mounted monitor arms (or just how sturdy it is in general)? I currently have a 3-monitor mount but the base of it is huge so I figured I would get a desk-mount system for when I buy a new desk yet I am unsure if the desk can support it. It is one of the reasons I am so hesitant to go with the Linnmom/Karlby.

(Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Mount-MI-753-Computer-Monitors-Compatible/dp/B00BDT072S?sa-no-redirect=1)

u/cphcider · 1 pointr/battlestations

Those monitors don't look identical, but you MAY be able to flip all 3 vertical and create a DIY ultrawide situation. That would give you more horizontal desk space so the TV isn't so crowded.

This one has arms you can adjust, but only horizontally (and tilt), you couldn't change any heights.

Same story with this one, but arguably easier to ensure things are more aligned. (This is what I use for 2 monitors that aren't identical and it works well enough.)

This one would let you play with heights, but is 2x the price of the others for that reason.

This was me playing with the idea of 2 horizontal and 1 vertical.

Thoughts:

  • The MSI X99S SLI Plus can 3x SLI with the cheaper i7-5820k. It uses 8x/8x/8x on the PCIe lanes. - One of the reasons the board is fantastic.

  • Consider grabbing a 3rd matching monitor for Triple screen gaming. Your 3x SLI setup will have the horsepower necessary.
  • Consider using monitors with VESA mounting points. - - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lg-monitor-24mp55hqp

You can then use desk clamps or arms to save quite a bit of physical desk space. - http://www.amazon.com/Mount--Articulating-Computer-Monitors-MI-753/dp/B00BDT072S/

  • Is WiFi going to be your primary connection method? If so might want to invest the extra $10 in the AC compatible model.

  • If you aren't planning to dramatically overclock your video cards, consider models with the exhausting reference cooler to help get that hot air directly out of the case instead of recirculating it among 3 cards. One card + non-exhausting cooler not a big deal, 2 cards hope you've got solid airflow. 3 cards with non-exhausting cooler, I hope it's temporary as you are planning a custom water cooling loop.

Yeah you should have room. You'll probably end up sacrificing some workspace.

Here's what I got away with in my Daniels Hall dorm room to give you a rough idea of space. That's a 24" monitor on a monitor arm-mount. If you're just using regular stands for your monitors, I highly recommend buying a triple-monitor mount or something like that to give you more real estate on your desk.

u/AlphaKiloCharlie · 1 pointr/battlestations

u/beantek · 1 pointr/battlestations

I love the stand. It's sturdier than those jointed arm stands. I had one of these monitor stands at my past job. Here's a pic of the battlestation. The joints sagged so the monitors weren't level no matter how hard you tried. It probably didn't help that those old school Dell Ultra-Sharp monitors were heavy.

Summon me when you post some pics

Going by your specifications, I doubt you’ll need to spend anywhere near 4k, especially if you only need some 1080p panels.

Unless this is just a personal project and you don’t mind blowing hours upon hours on setting everything up, you’re going about this the wrong way. It’ll be 100x times easier using Windows as your host and just running a single Linux VM (No hardware passthrough and minimal gaming performance impact).

That’s my 2 cents.

Since you have access to a Microcenter, you can get an i7 5820k and a m-ATX EVGA Micro 2 for very cheap.
