And as a coach, I can tell you that your logic is bullshit. This guy is on point. Most shoulder issues are actually thoracic spine issues that are causing the shoulder girdle to rest on an unstable platform which naturally tilts the scapulas (generally elevated and internally rotated) and/or freezes them to the ribcage. This results in an inability for the shoulder to articulate in the capsule and results in anterior humeral glide (the head of the humerus bone hitting the front of the shoulder capsule) which results in shoulder bursitis, torn labrums, slap tears, and the all common "rotator cuff injury".

A significant amount of shoulder issues are actually hip related issues because the pelvis is the real platform that the rest of the core sits on top of and that the shoulders have to stabilize off of - but we won't go any deeper than that for the purposes of this post.

Shoulder rehab 101 is fix the core. That starts with regaining control of the spine. Most thoracic and cervical spines are kyphotic due to prolonged bouts of sitting and/or interacting with technology (looking down texting, etc).

For someone who actually knows what they are talking about you can look up

Eric Cressey's content - famous for working with MLB pitchers. The guy knows a thing or two about fixing shoulders. He's a PRI guy (postural restoration institute) so there's a strong focus on diaphragmatic breathing and the core. One example of a T spine extension exercise/Eric's channel. https://youtu.be/KmTLtdf-Z4w

Dr Stuart McGill has some YouTube content on thoracic extension and shoulder health. He also has information and exercises in his book The Gift of Injury. He's a spine specialist so again a focus on core integrity. The McGill Big 3 (bird dogs, side planks, curl ups). Link to a video on the core and spine/Stu's channel. https://youtu.be/LrmMLHybk1o

Max Shank has an ebook and program called The Simple Shoulder Solution which is a great book and again starts at the spine to fix the shoulder with a heavy focus on breathing. His program is less structured than the typical 3 sets of 10 type physical therapy rehab. Hour long podcast that talks about how to fix your shoulders and his book. https://youtu.be/AkyeqhoUpv4

Dr Theresa Larson a world renowned physical therapist has a program called TheShoulderFix. Coincidentally her program starts with breathing and the spine and is what most high end PTs would prescribe. Hour long podcast on her program & methodology. https://youtu.be/FHs7EPNwxFI

You can look up shoulder CARs by Dr Andreo Spina. Controlled circular articulation of the shoulder joints. Joints love circles. Sample exercise https://youtu.be/81x0NlZe0es

You can try Ido Portal's 7 Minute Hanging Challenge for a simple but effective method to rehabbing the shoulders. Just hanging from a bar or rings every day. Documentary on Ido on London Real. https://youtu.be/Bv3Y4JdgpUA

You can read Katy Bowman's book Move Your DNA if you want to learn why your body is jacked up in the first place and how to fix it. Highly recommend this book for LEARNING ABOUT THE ENTIRE BODY.

If you don't have an Audible account just PM me your email and I'll send you this as your first free book.

Tldr: u/Heretothink don't listen to u/donteatyourvegs. He doesn't know what he's talking about. I just gave you plenty of resources of people that do know what they are talking about (including myself). And don't you know it, virtually everyone who knows WTF they're talking about focuses on breathing and core integrity (spine) as the foundation to fix shoulders. Can't do much when your scaps are on lock down because you are a chest breather with forward head posture and using your upper back muscles for respiration rather than overhead mobility.

I am being snarky because I loathe people that lack knowledge that tear down other people who are actually knowledgeable and act as though they are the authority without having actually developed the expertise. They're using their own anecdotal experience as validation that their method is the most optimal path as opposed to understanding it is just one path. Bridges and handstand can very be a part of shoulder rehab but they are pretty advanced techniques that if basic function is not first restored then these movements can definitely hurt more than help.

The structure of your DNA is mailable, apparently.

But it's not really what the book is about: it's about restoring your health through natural movement.
