If any one is upgrading to a mesh WiFi (whole house wifi--one network with a couple of wall plug satellites) I highly recommend this Netgear Orbi bundle. Was super easy to set up and works great. Wish I'd done it sooner as our wifi has sucked in the upstairs bedrooms and back deck/yard since moving last fall.

Forget about extenders and all the other repeater nonsense stuff. I've tried them all and have regretted every purchase including upgrading the router itself. Just have the FIOS guy install whatever the cheapest thing that you can get.

Then walk around the house and see how many dead spots there are at different times of the day. You may end up not needing anything, but if you do, buy yourself a mesh network and your problem is solved.

I have no idea why anybody still sells repeaters.

I went from a nighthawk r7000 to an Orbi RBK33 , Tested the RBK50 but due to the coverage of each satellite (~2500sqft) it was causing my ring cams to jump between the 2 and my live view was non existent. The 33’s plug in sats give you ~1500sqft which tends to hold the devices to the satellites without them jumping around. The main router gives you 2k sqft. (33’s also get as low as $199 once in a while)

It has been decided that we can not run a cable so now the options are the mesh system and it appears there are some good options out there. Can you please help choose which model would best to go with for longevity of product, security if possible, and reliability?

Looks like the Netgear Orbi RBK50 is on sale around $90 off, but only has two points?

Budget is to $300 and under.

So my Cox cable modem is also a router so I presume I would plug the main router into the modem router, disable the Cox network and only use the new network routing system? Or what would be the best configuration here?

( I like the idea of having a guest network and putting any unsecure or unsure devices on the guest network, i would presume the guest network has same speed as the primary network right? )

Thanks for your guys helps so far! Definitely appreciate it :)

EDIT: Also want to make sure it works well with iOS devices since that will be the majority of devices connected.
