Very new to skincare and I've finally managed to get a super simple routine going, have a few questions though. My skin is very acne prone but not too oily.

I've currently got this super basic routine below. I've been sticking to it for a few weeks and It's cleaned up my major spots really well, but my skin is still quite red with lots of small spots:

AM

  1. I'm looking to add a chemical exfoliator as suggested in wiki. I'm planning on using Neutrogena Rapid Clear Spot Treatment which if I'm reading the wiki right is a good chemical exfoliator for acne prone skin. Is this a good fit, and am I right in thinking I'd add that to my PM routine only before moisturising?
  2. Extremely basic question but couldn't find a clear answer anywhere: how do I apply it? Do I rub it in my hands like a moisturiser, or should I be using a cotton pad? Do I wash it off?
  3. When people say "evening routine", do they mean just before bed, or more like 6-8pm?

    Thanks for any help :)
