Hi,
The i7-8550U is not much faster than the i5-8250U, so you can get the i5 version of the Lenovo Yoga 730 which will be well suited for your use. It is 15.6", touchscreen, and 2-in-1 which appears to be what you're looking for. The build quality isn't the best, but more premium than the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1.
The laptop has stylus support so you can draw on it with a stylus.
I would recommend ordering a laptop online as opposed to in store. Black Friday often clutters stores.
I would recommend this [Lenovo Yoga 730] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CKVLP4V/?tag=bkadamos_alltest-20)
The case is made from aluminum, feels very premium.
Hinges wobble so it is hard to open with one hand and screen turns 360 degree.
Very lightweight at 2.65 lbs.
You can upgrade/replace the storage, but not the ram.
There are two USB Type-C ports (both support TB3) and a headphone jack on the left side and a single USB 3.0 Type-A port on the right side.
No SD card reader.
Comes with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 which is good for day to day usage.
It supports digitizer pen and it has a comfortable grip and two buttons.x
Comes with chiclet keyboard, key travel is quite shallow, the pressure point is not well defined, and the resistance is too small, not nearly as good as the famous Thinkpad keyboard
The trackpad doesn't have dedicated mouse keys, the surface is smooth and supports Microsoft’s Precision.
The touchscreen is able to detect ten fingers at the same time. It detects inputs very precisely.
Screen is glossy, has good Brightness(but you still might struggle under direct sunlight), and good color coverage as well at 61.38% for RGB and 83.92% for sRGB and panel doesn't use PWM for brightness regulation.
CPU throttles under long time of heavy usage, but it still more powerful than most other ultrabooks in the market.
Storage is only NVMe (which makes it expensive if you want to upgrade/replace the SSD installed.
Fan noise and coil whine is minimal and not noticeable.
Heat management is very good, and it doesn't reach the point of being uncomfortable to hold.
Speakers are not very loud and doesn't have much bass but that is to be expected from a 2 in 1.
Battery life is very good at 7.5 to 9 hours with average usage.
HDMI.

Only 661 USD...this is the cheapest one TB3 Laptop
I would go with this Asus Zenbook Flip I think its the better choice comparing the price and quality, it comes with stylus pen and its 14" so like 2-in-1 its more portable (although Yoga is only 2.6 lbs), both has integred UHD Graphics 620 , the main advantage of this Lenovo Yoga 730 could be the screen, but Im not sure about it.
I'm thinking about going with this

Hi,
I think you have to choose between the weight limit and the high settings for those games - under 3.5 lbs the best GPU is MX150 - keeping that in mind I have made this noteb search
You can see and change the search parameters using the "Refine results" button in the upper-left part of the search results page. You can also click on the laptops for more information.
I would go for this one: Lenovo Ideapad 720s-14 Intel i7-8550U, NVIDIA Geforce MX150, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD - you can find it around 950$ on amazon
If you want to play them on high settings and on a light laptop - try this one: Lenovo Yoga 730-15 Intel i5-8250U, GTX 1050, 256 SSD, 8 GB RAM - 4.17 lbs you can find it on amazon around 1080$
Im not from the US so hope you won't blame me for my ignorance, but I'm willing to buy a lenovo 730 , but the prices at amazon are very confusing .
how come a 12 gig ram ddr4 and 8 gig ram ddr4 (same specs for the rest ) has a 50$ difference in favor for the 12 gigs, how can it be cheaper then the 8 gig???
secondly the 1 star reviews are very intimidating https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Touch-Screen-i5-8250U-Thunderbolt-Fingerprint/dp/B07CKVLP4V/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=lenovo+yoga+730&qid=1573510690&sr=8-3 for example...
how can I be sure amazon is the best site to order this laptop from.
based on your past experience of ordering from amazon a laptop (not necessarily lenovo) would you recommend me? or should i order it from somewhere safer ?
Hi! I was looking around and was curious what you thought about this vs the E490S for my needs? https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Touch-Screen-i5-8250U-Thunderbolt-Fingerprint/dp/B07CKVLP4V/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1545385674&sr=1-2

In your budget, the Lenovo Yoga 730 2-in-1 would be a good laptop for a student. It is lightweight as you will be traveling with it from class to class and it has a good battery life as well so you will not have to be next to an outlet. Build wise it is pretty solid as it has a premium feel to it, its corners are quite smooth with no sharp edges. The RAM is soldered in so you cannot upgrade those, you can only change the SSD or the wifi module. Performance wise its pretty stand stuff, fast boot times due to the SSD. Multitasking is good with its quad-core CPU and 8 GB of RAM. Overall its a good laptop with not many flaws for the price and use case
advice: you’ll want at least 256gb for windows. trust me, 128gb for a 1440p isn’t worth it. unless you’re doing content creation or watching a shit ton of movies 24/7 on good internet, a 1080p display will treat you fine. with that in mind:
lenovo 730s:
while it doesn’t have a touchscreen, the quad core i7/16GB/512 on this machine will absolutely blow your theoretical machine out of the water in longevity and raw performance. there’s a much cheaper spec with i5/8/256 if you can’t cough up the extra $49. oh, and it only weighs 2.4 with a fingerprint sensor: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Notebook-i7-8565U-Processor-81JB0003US/dp/B07K8PY5H5/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=730s&qid=1567875384&s=gateway&sr=8-3
if you absolutely need a touchscreen but don’t need the bonus performance, check out the yoga (NOT THE 730s): https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Yoga-730-13-i5-8250u/dp/B07CKNCQYX
or if you want a bigger display and a bonus 4gb ram, check out this: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Touch-Screen-i5-8250U-Thunderbolt-Fingerprint/dp/B07CKVLP4V
all of them are available new on amazon, and include thunderbolt 3 so u can add an external graphics card or lightning fast storage down the road
