Not a software solution, but my mouse has a dedicated double click button. I didn't think it would be that useful at first, but it just feels so nice to use.
It's just a cheap mouse I got from Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AADYYGM/
There are probably some better mice out there with the same feature or maybe it can be done for a programmable mouse button.
one Razer mouse with a price tag of over $100
1 Offbrand mouse, with LED and comparable # of buttons for less than $10
So there you go, less than 1/10th of the cost.
for me the ONLY non ergonomic thing about it is that there is not true ring and pinky finger support. my old mouse was this and it had a very large rest for those two fingers. coming from that to the G502, and 6 months later i still have not gotten used to it. other than that its a great mouse, and if you ave a 3d printer i'm sure you could make an add on to fix it.
This is my daily driver.
