I had this card reader in my last rig. I'd still use it but I don't have another 5.25 bay in my case. It always worked great and added 2 more USB 3 ports to the front
you could also purchase a 5.25 inch bay extension that has 3.0! NZXT makes a really sexy one.
This one
USB is fine, but if you really want to take up an expansion bay you can get something like this

Just squeezes into your budget but it has a lot of stuff going on!
I began with the 5820k 28-lane Core i7 Processor. It will be awesome for video editing in premiere pro and handling multicore/threaded workloads. The motherboard and cooler go along well and they are backed up by 64GB of ddr4 also ready to go for your video editing. Next comes the storage: You've got a samsung 950 pro for your boot drive and application storage, when fully optimized you should be able to boot from power off to windows desktop in under 5 seconds. You've got 250GB 850 pro evo ssd as a scratch disk/temporary storage backed up by 4tb of mechanical storage from WD. Then, the video card which can be configured for GPU accelerated tasks in premiere pro and should be able to play all your favorite games at 1080p at 60 fps. All of that will fit into the 200R by corsair powered by the evga 750w fully modular power supply. You've got an optical drive for burning/watching DVD's and last but not least, a built in card reader from NZXT (make sure to click on that link to see it, I couldnt find it on PC Part Picker) for all your card reading needs.
This was just a pretty quick rough draft but let me know what you think! I can help make any revisions if you're interested!

Get a PCI USB 3.0 card with internal 20 pin header. Something like this and for the front 5.25 bay, get something like this. Connect the 2 up and remember to give power to the PCI USB 3 card and you should be good to go.
I already answered this for you.
I am looking to add a lot of USB 3.0 ports to 5.25" bay but have not had luck finding something I like. This is about as close as I can find, does anyone know something with more then 2 usb 3.0 ports?
I got a this card reader as a gift for Christmas. The problem is, my mobo only has 1 usb3.0 header. Is there a way I can hook this up too?
I also got 4 new fans for my case. My mobo also only has 3 system fans spots. How can I plug the fourth in?
I have an MSI Gaming Z170A GAMING M5 mobo inside a Corsair 500R case and I'm interested in installing an NZXT Aperture M Card Reader. My mobo only has 1 internal USB 3.1 connector, but the manual indicates that it "supports additional 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 Ports". What do I need to do to expand that USB 3.1 header so I can connect the card reader?
This is the reason I wanted one...not op though.
I would switch the ram and hdd for these

I am considering the Gigabyte GA-Z170 mobo. The case I'm considering, the Enermax ECA-3253 has front (ok, top) mounted USB ports.
I'm a noob, so this is a stupid question, I'm sure, but will I be able to connect these ports and an internal memory card reader such as this one to the mobo?
