That is definitely the curveball on my list. It a short story (~10 pages) published in Of Other Worlds (I think it might be published in another volume as well). It is a "hard Science Fiction" about travelling to the moon. It begins with this quote from Perelandra

> that what was myth in one world might always be fact in some other.

I think it is my favorite short story by any author.
